Default Issue with mobile number portability

    Respected Sir/ma'am,
I would like to bring it to your kind attention that i had recently opted for the MNP scheme .I wanted to shift from BSNL to Airtel. My cell phone number is 9448xxxxxx,i was told that the sim card will be down for only 2 hours. After a weeks time the same happened and i received a message from FTA saying the number port in request was successful.I went to recharge but it is giving me a error.I tried to recharge 3 times and i have been calling airtel several times but no one is interested in resolving my issue.
It has been more than 2 days since my number has been considered invalid.I sincerely request some one would kindly look into this matter and help me resolve the issue ASAP.
    Thanks
    XYZ.

p.s: above is c&v of my complaint to Airtel.

    Option 1:
Does it work with BSNL connection ?
contact BSNL CC in person in your exchange.

    Option 2:
see this link for full procedure.
    http://www.moneylife.in/article/78/13298.html
says you have to submit fresh form photos etc.
    ......

    4. Your existing operator will communicate with the new operator after checking if you have any outstanding amount. If your account has a clear balance, the existing operator will go ahead with the approval for the number porting.

    5. The subscriber would also have to fill and submit the prescribed form for MNP to the new operator. The subscriber would have to submit documents (like photo ID and address proof) along with the MNP form to the new operator. Post-paid subscribers will have to submit a copy of their latest bill as well

    option 3 :
You can also try an Airtel outlet nearest to you.
    or

    Option 4:
    RECHARGE :
The "friendly" cellphone shop from where
you can buy recharge cards for different service providers.

    Feedback.

    Dear essbebe,
I sincerely appreciate your response and apologize the delay in updating here.
Actually for 2 days i tried pretty much everything, went to airtel outlets all across and religiously followed all steps mentioned in airtel site.
Please keep in mind not even their customer service was equipped to solve my issue(i am talking of airtel number provided in the site.)
The fix was a very simple one, after number portability you get the confirmation message.Once you get the message you are supposed to call 123 and choose the prefered language and restart the mobile....
Only then will the new sim function,a fix as simple as this and yet most airtel representatives are not aware of this and they kept saying wait for a couple of days....

    Thanks again...

lol that was crazy. The dealer or relationship center doesn't inform you to call 123 to activate the services ?

I ported 2 of my nos to Airtel and one has been activated 2 days back with no issues. The other no was not ported as the UPC code was incorrect. It was my fault I guess.

Resubmitted the docs and other stuff. The Airtel cc team called me back twice and apologize for the inconvenience and asked once the another number gets ported, they will refund the port in charges of 19rs plus some surprises too

    Dear All,

I ported my reliance GSM number to Airtel.I made the request on 27 Jan 2011.And from 2nd Feb 2011 i got the massage from Airtel and it started working. After that i made an online recharge on 4th Feb 2011 of INR 444 from freecharge.com.The amount was deducted from my account but i did not get it in my mobile.Suddenly i checked my Reliance SIM using other handset i came to know tht it is recharged in stead of Airtel SIM but i cant use that. Please suggest me wht to do? How can i get this balance to my Airtel.

i am applied the MNP service on 20.01.2011 from airtel to some other network. The new service provider will assure that you new service will get active by 27.01.2011. But yesterday(27.01.2011) the new service provider sending the following message "Request AZ151189 dated 27 Jan 2011 has been rejected by current operator (Airtel) due to There are subsisting contractual obligation from the Subscriber agreement. Pls contact your current operator for further details." what is the Hell that Airtel guys doing i didn't sign any agreement with that Service. What the **** they are playing with Number portability. When i try to call the customer care simply avoiding the calls...and i try again i not able to call the customer care. - Gnanavel, Pune - 6

is it postpaid or prepaid ?

if postpaid, you might hvnt cleared the unbilled charges or you hv changed the plan within 3 bill cycles.

if prepaid : I'm not sure for this.
