Default Getting unwanted calls even after DND

I have DND activated on my number, but I still receive unwanted calls. A regular number which I receive a call from begins with 1400 or 1409 and its an Airtel ad call. A few days back I got a call for insurance, I dont understand why! When my number has been put on DND I should not be getting these kind of calls. The 1400 and 1409 number is a regular call I get, I know its an ad call because its Airtel selling something, so should these not be stopped too or do these calls not count in DND?

Ideally such calls should stop if you have your number listed in DND but service providers in India dont respect theirs customers so this will continue. I keep getting text messages every single day atleast 3-4 of them about real estate launches. My spam started when I made an enquiry with investors clinic and ever since this message saga has been on.

Cant you call the investor company up and tell them to stop sending messages or even complain to Airtel to stop these messages being received?

I used to get these property messages, like flatsfor sale and so on, but once in a while, now they have stopped.

What about messages you get from Airtel, like offers and so, are these included in DND too?

I dont get any offers from Airtel. I have told the investors clinic people not to call or send messages a number of times but they probably think that pestering someone like this might get them some business. I wont use investors clinic services ever.

I think I may need to call Airtel and sort this out, but its just a hassle calling them and waiting in line to talk to someone. It becomes most frustrating when at times the advisor hangs up on you.

Send an e-mail instead. There will be record of the communication and they will act when they know its all on record.

Thanks for this advise admin. You are so right about having it on record, but companies these days say we dont have record of the request or call and deny all acts.

Airtel has very good network coverage, It covers most places, its happened only once or twice where another providers network was better. Service as in their DND service is not good, but I think so far their customer executives are polite and informative, as of yet, it maybe because I have not called them as much. But lets see if this good service lasts or not.

i do not know why people upset with unwanted phone calls and msgs. WHY people use DND.
i dont mind for unwanted calls and msgs. I can handle all phone calls and msgs according to me,
which one i want and which one not with a mobile without dnd service activate. i never use dnd
in my mobile life a single time. all right enough, question is how i did that

so solution is:- what i did ? i simply put or add unwanted number into black list or fake list or add to screen list
or add to reject list (different names list but same work). after adding unwanted number to that list i did not get
call from that number even i also did not get msg from that number. so this way i add all number to list who
distrubed me. sometimes i add friend numbers.

first i have nokia 1600 in this mobile go to CONTACT ---> SCREENLIST open and add number in this.
then i use chinese mobile in this list called black list. then i use samsung dual, in this liast is called reject list.
after adding number to list u did not get any call from that number also not receive msgs BUT BUT BUT
when d person calls u whose number u add to screen list or black list, ur phone does not ring ONLY UR phone
light blinks. if that time phone is in ur front of eyes when block person calls u, phone will notice u with blink phone light.
if phone is not in ur front when person call u, u will not known that time and not even disturbed. u known only when u
see ur phone and a msg appear of block call, like msgs appear of incoming sms. some phone does not show msg
of block call. if u want calls from particular number simply delete from list.

if u did not find block number list anywhere in mobile dont worry, just go into received phone number list then move
cursor on d number u want to block. now press SELECT and from appeared option select ADD TO REJECT LIST,
or ADD TO SCREEN LIST, or block list whatever option in ur mobile have.

SMS when u block a number and block number sms u, incoming sms not shown on ur screen like simple sms icon appear
on top and no ringtone of sms ringed. even block number sms not enter in the inbox. sms gone in SCREENMSG option.
THIS name can be different acc to the mobile. all block number sms u find here in SCREENMSG. it like inbox only difference
is, it receives only block number sms.

TRY IT , USE IT, IF WORKS PLZ INFORM AND FORGET DND

That is a sure shot way of dealing with numbers that call or send messages repeatedly but there is not much you can do about new numbers. I for example get at least 3 new messages from new numbers almost every day which have real estate adverts. I made a mistake of calling up a company called "Investors clinic" and ever since people have been pestering me. First Investors clinic people used to call every now and then and I complained a few times and they stopped but then started a never ending chain of sms adverts from different real estate agents in NSC and some even from other states. It is very obvious that Investors clinic either sold their data base or some one who works there provided my number to third parties. That is what I understand from this situation because before this Investors clinic saga there was no such spam coming my way.

IF U receive daily sms from new numbers every time then block list did not help u. just keep adding all unwanted number to list

For some it may not bean issue to answer calls and see their messages, and its not about being upset its about time being wasted.

Its ok to use the method you have, but the calls can come from many different numbers, if you block one number it doesnt end there, there are other companies who call and sell you products or want you to change your mobile tariff and so on. Im not saying what you have done or doing is wrong its good, and its useful for those who have this feature in their phone. If I had this feature I would use it too. I think this is a feature which only some phones have like Nokia or Samsung phones.

Usually when you have DND service activated you should not get any sales calls. I think the DND service does not apply to messages from Airtel or any other service provider because they provide the service and they want to make you aware of the other services and offers they have.

Yes it is called Do not disturb registry. Advertisers cannot call people who are in that list.

Yep its for advertisers not to call or send messages. Airtel does that, so what does that make them???

I've got DND activated. When a rare advertisement call comes my way, I just snap back at them that it is illegal to call a number with DND activated. Also, I ask them to delete my number from their database. It has worked for me and they never call again.

I installed TrueCaller ID App to add the usual numbers from Reliance to my Spam list. They used to call me 4-5 times everyday. But now they are blocked.

@ Admin: One friend of mine works for Investors Clinic. I'll ask him if he can get your number removed from their database.

u r write how many numbers these people can used to distrub us.
how many numbers 20,40,80 or 100. i dont think they used 20 numbers for call on one same number.

we did not need to much hard work to block number, just when u got call that distrub
u according to u. Put the call in block list that time. for that open number from received phone list and select option for block number. I know with this way we got no full freedom from calls and msgs but this way can solve our 90% problem or more.

first when i use nokia 1600 in that phone i can store only 10 number to block. This is to much less bcoz advertiser number are more than my blocking capacity. Then i found other soultion. I saved all advertiser numbers in my phone with named Z and assign NO TUNE to that numbers. when they call phone light blinks but due to assign no tune, phone not ringed.

and this blocking options are avaliable in all phone, we have to find by seeing all option in our phones.

Airtel are clever arent they? Easy way of getting money deducted and you cant even blame them because you made the call yourself. The big message here is that never call back anyone whos number you dont recognise, especially when they have missed called you.

I think thats the best way to do it, there is no other way to lay them off! Sometimes getting the same call everyday, I mean some company they are running, when they dont even know whether their staff has called a particular number or not!
