    Default Airtel Call Problem

    I have an Airtel mobile phone connection which I have been using for quite a number of years now. I can not clearly remember the time but I remember from the past year or so I am havin problems with my calls. Whenever I make an outgoing call I can never hear the other person and I have to disconnect the call in order to be able to hear the call the next time round. It sometimes happens with incoming calls as well but rarely. The problem with outgoing calls happens every so often but not all the time. Is this an Airtel problem or something to do with my phone?

    Try using your sim card in another phone, and see if the same problem occurs. If it does then you need to contact Airtel customer service and they would need to resolve the issue from their side.

    I get the same problem with my airtel sim card. This is due to shortage of spectrum as far as I know. My calls also drop every now and then.

    if your phone is okey @Rickstar, try moving to a higher level ground whenever you are making your calls. i had a similar issue and took my phone for repair only to discover later that my phone was okey and the only problem was the network coverage. all i needed to do was move to a higher level ground and i can hear well.

    Well, yes you are right this is the same problem I am facing nowadays. I have changed my SIM and phone too but problem still there I don't know why last to last night I spent 9 rupees just to connect my call, but couldn't get through it. Sometimes I heard my own voice it happens very rare after speaking to customer service they said there is nothing wrong with my account and all the service's are working fine, all the scripted answer I got from them. Now I am planing to buy a new SIM because I don't have any option.

    I'm fairly certain the problem has to be with your phone. My advice is to make a backup of your phone and do a complete hardware reset. This would mostly solve the problem as I had a similar problem like this before but if it still persists, then it must be the service problem.

    that is why Airtel is fighting tooth and nail against the new TRAI norms that require it to pay Re.1 to the customer for every call drop. They know that it will wipe off their profits. They have issued far excess SIM cards than their spectrum and hardware can support. So everyone is taken for a ride.

    Although it is such a known brand, but I think Vodafone connectivity is better than Airtel! I am a vodafone user and my husband is an Airtel user. We stay on the ground floor of our building. He finds it very difficult to make or attend calls when inside the home. He always has to step out of the house to get a better connectivity. Even most of the times his phone is out of reach whenever he is inside the house. But U never faced any issues like that ever. Vodafone rocks!
