Exclamation Ghost Push - new malware threat hits Google play!

I don't know why hackers and cyber criminals are only after Android and Google play. The news of Stagefright virus is still hot, now comes another serious malware threat to Google Play and Android. Here even if you do not download apps from untrusted sources, there is no escape. Ghost Push, a Trojan-style malware has managed to creep into the Google Play and hide itself inside applications. As per report it's supposed to affect 90k Android devices. The malware obtains root access and installs malicious apps and send never ending ads on your device.

This is another blow to Android's rising popularity.

That is why hackers are after Android and Google Play though. It's because they are so popular. Personally I have anti virus on my phone for this very reason. There is too much important information on my phone. I practically live on my phone. My phone numbers, emails, and banking information could all be compromised if it fell into the wrong hands. Thanks for the warning though. I will look out for this in future uses.

You'll probably find that every week there will be new security threats across most platforms, some are more serious than others, and also some make more headlines than others also.

The only way to be completely safe is to not go online st all, and we aren't going to be doing that anytime soon I wouldn't have thought.

But I think it is Android that is in news nowadays with regard to security threats. As already discussed, it may be because most of the devices currently being used are running on Android OS. In fact nobody knows if there is any other OS than Android or iOS. I think it is high time that another OS should come into play as the the game is only limited to two players now.

But the security issues are getting piled up every day and the most suffered are the people who use old version. Gradually people will lose trust in Android. It is better for Google to have a serious thought on security or come up with another alternative to Android.

Well there's Windows? That's the 3rd choice of OS for you, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

And no matter what happens, there's no chance that Google are going to turn round and find an alternative to android just because of some security issues, they'll just do what they always do and release a patch to fix it.
