    Default Is iPhone worth buying?

There is always a craze of the Apple branded products and of recent as everyone knows it was the new 3g iPhone, it does look good and also has good features, but is it worth buying?

Regardless of the price, I want to know is the iphone worth getting or not?

It all depends upon your need and wish, iphone is a good device which gives you total mobile office features. You can use it as your phone, music player, cam and mini office too.

If you like mini applications and mobile internet applications then its a good deal otherwise i don't think it is required for anything. Like for me phone means phone only, i got 2 connection for my personal connection i am using Nokia 3230 and for work phone i am using Nokia 1100 and both are working good.

Now it's your own wish and need

Is it good and reliable enough, as I have heard that some products from apple such as their ipod nano has some problems, is there any such thing with their iphone?

Dont you find it annoying carrying two phones with you, one is enough as it is!!!

here is the list of drawbacks of iPhone if you are ok with this list then you can buy it....

    1) CANNOT record video clips

    2) Doesnot support flash in web browser

    3) you cannot view any and all videos from youtube

    4) Does not support INSTANT MESSAGING

    5) DOES NOT SUPPORT STEREO MUSIC STREAMING THROUGH BLUETOOTH HEADSETS,

    6) You CANNOT LOAD YOUR OWN 3RD PARTY PROGRAMS

    7) DOES NOT HAVE ANY GAMES. Games from the iTunes store are not compatible.

    8) you CANNOT CUSTOMIZE YOUR RINGTONES WITH MP3 SONGS

    9) CANNOT USE VOICE COMMANDS OR VOICE RECOGNITION OR VOICE DIALING.

    10) The keyboard supposedly isn’t a real bother after you get used to it, but TYPING PERIODS AND COMMAS ARE A PAIN IN THE NECK, requiring you to go to a 2nd screen each time. Given that you use a period or comma in almost every sentence you type, this is NOT CONVENIENT.

    11) you CANNOT SEND PICS TO OTHER CELL PHONES VIA MMS PICTURE MESSAGING.

    12) You CANNOT FREELY USE THE iPHONE ON OTHER CONTINENTS WITH SIM CARDS (depends on network)

    13) You CANNOT DOWNLOAD OR ACCESS ITUNES DIRECTLY from the iPhone, you always have to do it through you PC or Mac’s iTunes program and then sync files.

    14) You CANNOT USE IT AS A MODEM

    15) The iPhone CANNOT GET REAL-TIME GPS MAPPING

    16) You CANNOT GO ON VACATION OR ROAD TRIP WITHOUT YOUR CHARGER because it doesn’t have a removeable battery, so you cannot use multiple batteries as back-up or spare

    17) No memory card

    18) It does not support 3G

    19) you may have to buy another accessory to connect the iPhone to speakers, car radio, etc.

    20) not all earplugs/headsets will fit into the jack since it’s reported to be a extra deep connection. Be ready to add $40 to your purchase price!

    21) You CANNOT WALK OUT OF THE STORE WITH A WORKING iPHONE - you’ll have to go home and activate it through iTunes.com(depends)

    22) Since the iPhone DOES NOT HAVE A REMOVEABLE BATTERY, and the expected life is 300-400 charges, you’ll HAVE TO SHIP IT TO APPLE TO REPLACE THE BATTERY EVERY YEAR OR TWO just like iPods.

    23)You CANNOT COPY/PASTE ANYTHING!

    24) It does not have a simple FM radio.

so if you are ok with these things then no problem you can buy.....

Mr. Tooth Fairy did you find any drawbacks and which one have you got?

"kirankumargb - here is the list of drawbacks of iPhone if you are ok with this list then you can buy it....

    1) CANNOT record video clips - dont need to to record videos

    2) Doesnot support flash in web browser - i don't necessary always visit flash websites, just the basic and essential

    3) you cannot view any and all videos from youtube - dont visit youtuube

    4) Does not support INSTANT MESSAGING - but i suppose you can use applications such as fring (where you can use gtalk, yahoo and other messengers)

    5) DOES NOT SUPPORT STEREO MUSIC STREAMING THROUGH BLUETOOTH HEADSETS - wouldnt need this

    6) You CANNOT LOAD YOUR OWN 3RD PARTY PROGRAMS - does that mean i wont be able to download fring then (or anything which will allow me to use messenger services)

    7) DOES NOT HAVE ANY GAMES. Games from the iTunes store are not compatible. - dont need this

    8) you CANNOT CUSTOMIZE YOUR RINGTONES WITH MP3 SONGS - dont like using mp3 songs for ringtones

    9) CANNOT USE VOICE COMMANDS OR VOICE RECOGNITION OR VOICE DIALING - dont ever use this feature

- doesnt seem like much of a problem

    11) you CANNOT SEND PICS TO OTHER CELL PHONES VIA MMS PICTURE MESSAGING - again not a feature which i use or will need

    12) You CANNOT FREELY USE THE iPHONE ON OTHER CONTINENTS WITH SIM CARDS (depends on network) - hmmmmmmm

    13) You CANNOT DOWNLOAD OR ACCESS ITUNES DIRECTLY from the iPhone, you always have to do it through you PC or Mac’s iTunes program and then sync files - dont think its something i need

    14) You CANNOT USE IT AS A MODEM - would not need to anyway

    15) The iPhone CANNOT GET REAL-TIME GPS MAPPING - not too fussed about this

    16) You CANNOT GO ON VACATION OR ROAD TRIP WITHOUT YOUR CHARGER because it doesn’t have a removeable battery, so you cannot use multiple batteries as back-up or spare - i take my phone charger with me all the time when i travel anyway

    17) No memory card - not an issue

    18) It does not support 3G - thats only if its not the new iphone 3g

    19) you may have to buy another accessory to connect the iPhone to speakers, car radio, etc - dont need for it to be connected

    20) not all earplugs/headsets will fit into the jack since it’s reported to be a extra deep connection. Be ready to add $40 to your purchase price! - im sure earplugs do last quite a while

    21) You CANNOT WALK OUT OF THE STORE WITH A WORKING iPHONE - you’ll have to go home and activate it through iTunes.com(depends) - need to check this out

    22) Since the iPhone DOES NOT HAVE A REMOVEABLE BATTERY, and the expected life is 300-400 charges, you’ll HAVE TO SHIP IT TO APPLE TO REPLACE THE BATTERY EVERY YEAR OR TWO just like iPods - you are joking me, surely the battery will last at least 2 years, a year is just too short, and by the time of two years the phone will be old.

    23)You CANNOT COPY/PASTE ANYTHING! - not required

    24) It does not have a simple FM radio - i like listening to the radio (maybe a problem)

so if you are ok with these things then no problem you can buy....."

so most things you metioned i am not brothered with as i don't require those features, its just the small things really like fm radio or messenger or downloaded 3rd party softwares!

But this maybe different in case of iphone 3g, as its advanced and will have better features (from the sounds of it you were referring to the normal iphone)

If you're not gonna use many of these features, then i think nokia 5310 xpressmusic would be the best for you.

    1) CANNOT record video clips - i can, install app for it.

    2) Doesnot support flash in web browser - anyways flashy images annoys me..:16:

    3) you cannot view any and all videos from youtube - what u mean all? i think u can view all. it has seperate yourube application.

    4) Does not support INSTANT MESSAGING. - got installed gtalk..

    5) DOES NOT SUPPORT STEREO MUSIC STREAMING THROUGH BLUETOOTH HEADSETS, - if bluetooth head sets will be compatible, i think it will not be able to deliver the best sound quality as through earphones and headphones. Music is the best feature i must say.

    6) You CANNOT LOAD YOUR OWN 3RD PARTY PROGRAMS- i did tht. who said we cannot load 3rd party programs. Jailbreak your phone.

    7) DOES NOT HAVE ANY GAMES. Games from the iTunes store are not compatible. - still not used. but i have seen many ppl using it. I willl try out and let u know. But thts for sure tht u can play lots of games. And its accelrometer enabled games are just mindblowing.

    8) you CANNOT CUSTOMIZE YOUR RINGTONES WITH MP3 SONGS- during an incoming call anyways u dont listen whole mp3 songs. for short mp3 clips u can install. its working for me. normally,,

    9) CANNOT USE VOICE COMMANDS OR VOICE RECOGNITION OR VOICE DIALING. - practically i never use it in any phone.

- practice makes man perfect.

    11) you CANNOT SEND PICS TO OTHER CELL PHONES VIA MMS PICTURE MESSAGING. - mms is not free.

    12) You CANNOT FREELY USE THE iPHONE ON OTHER CONTINENTS WITH SIM CARDS (depends on network) - forget abt other continents. in India its working.

    13) You CANNOT DOWNLOAD OR ACCESS ITUNES DIRECTLY from the iPhone, you always have to do it through you PC or Mac’s iTunes program and then sync files. - never tried as its not free.

    14) You CANNOT USE IT AS A MODEM - laptop is there for me.

    15) The iPhone CANNOT GET REAL-TIME GPS MAPPING . - not sure. but i think we can.

    16) You CANNOT GO ON VACATION OR ROAD TRIP WITHOUT YOUR CHARGER because it doesn’t have a removeable battery, so you cannot use multiple batteries as back-up or spare. - well almost all phones company does not give extra battery. all the people do not carrry one extra battery for nokia or moto or any brand phones. why to think so much for this phone? carry a charger lol simple

    17) No memory card - get 16gb if less.

    18) It does not support 3G - mine is 3g.

    19) you may have to buy another accessory to connect the iPhone to speakers, car radio, etc.- in all other phones also u have to buy additional accesories...

    20) not all earplugs/headsets will fit into the jack since it’s reported to be a extra deep connection. Be ready to add $40 to your purchase price! - 3.5 mm jack fits in it.

    21) You CANNOT WALK OUT OF THE STORE WITH A WORKING iPHONE - you’ll have to go home and activate it through iTunes.com(depends) - thts not a problem.

    22) Since the iPhone DOES NOT HAVE A REMOVEABLE BATTERY, and the expected life is 300-400 charges, you’ll HAVE TO SHIP IT TO APPLE TO REPLACE THE BATTERY EVERY YEAR OR TWO just like iPods. - not sure. lets see.. will update this post when i will have problem related to battery.

    23)You CANNOT COPY/PASTE ANYTHING! - install 3rd party software.

    24) It does not have a simple FM radio. - additional accesory needed,

so if you are ok with these things then no problem you can buy.....

    Its exceptionally brilliant phone.

has less features compared to nokia in the Sms department and others i did not read the whole replies above ...but i have N85 and i ihave iphone 3g

If you have used iphone for a week you will never go back to Nokia or anyother phone.

Its so useful i cannot even start to pen it down here..

Yes it has major flaws regarding camera and sms fdw mms but still its freaking brilliant ..i dont use N85.

    thats good Mr.tooth fairy,
as i told you it is the first release details ill update the 2nd version advantages & dis-advantages... as soon as i am updated with it...! LOL

yes you have provided ans to all but wht annoys me is why should we have to go for 3rd party apps while choosing a new phone .... its like buying a cycle and then adding engine, headlight, mirrors to it, to make it a bike....

the phone features what they have provided is good no doubt about it, but most of the features what we use daily are not included for that we have to go for 3rd party....

you can jailbreak the phone and add features which even nokia cant think of from new CYDIA APP STORE

which went live yesterday or day before and its going to be a freaking headache to App store.

I think it might be as big as Apple app store.

Think of an app and its in Cydia.

if u r talking abt clarity than yes, poor clarity as vga cam but still i will say its completely a phone for music.. so cant consider as flaw.
video u can record as u i said installing applications.
sms forwarding and all normal functions u can use, again by installing application. MMS i never use it.

well i think all ppl mostly prefer nokia and tht also symbian software supported phones.. because its completely customisable and compatible.what u have to say for tht? and yeah.. normal apps for daily life few not included. i agree.. but if anyone wants it its just one time installment. nothing to worry. not a big thing.

over all i would say.. this phone has amazing touch screen, slim, great grafics engine and ram so pretty fast in handling 8 or 16 gb data, accelerometer, matchless music quality.

somethings u have to let go.. say installing 3rd party softwares, radio and few more.

People think that apple iphone is worth to buy, but i think that apple is just good for music quality. If you want to buy apple products then buy the ipods.

For cost conscious people, its not at all worth buying...Its not really worth given the features it has....Most people buy just for showing off ( I myself have seen it)...
