Default Are mobile phones prone to virus threats?

I am using an iphone for google search and browsing different websites.
Is it possible for the phone to be affected by virus ? If so what security measures should be taken? Are there antivirus softwares for mobile phones too? Can someone enlighten me please?

If you consider the RISK, then you can avoid many things. As NP said Windows Mobiles are pronte to virus attack, not sure about iphone.

I don't think it is considered safest browser, but Apple claim safari 4 to be the fastest browser.

generally windows n symbian based mobiles are prone to virus threats... but i believe with the expansion of iphone, it would be the next target (though it is well protected), so you should try to use antivirus s.w
