Exclamation Help Needed in connecting LCD TV and Big TV set-top box

    Hi All,

Can anyone help me in connecting my LCD TV to the Big TV. Which will be better in both audio and video quality...

I am having Samsung 32'' LCD TV model : LA32A450C1

I tried connecting it through normal A/V connection. But the picture quality is very poor. Please suggest some other mean to connect it......

    Regards,

    Karthik

AV connection is the best way to connect your STB box with LCD but if you are not getting good picture quality then please check ports and our TV Guru Just4Kix is the best person to comment on this issue

Actually not much I can do. It is more like plug and watch - just fit the cables and you are all set.

I feel that you are having poor quality signal. Is signal strength above 80% consistently? Your dish may not be aligned properly and/or the LNB needs adjustment. Please call the person who installed your dish and get things checked.

I watch DishTV on my home projection and although the quality is less (projection will always result in low contrast), on my CRT TV, it is OK. I think that it should turn out OK on LCD TV also though I cannot substantiate this fact.

    Hi,

I have seen in BigTV on LCD TV @ Reliance world. The picture looked like vcd quality, not dvd quality. It may look better in a CRT TV. I feel that Reliance is not giving the best quality pictures now. LCD BigTV users please comment !

    Cheers, Varun

    Hi,

    Hey I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I spent 2 hours to setup the picture configuration and finally got a good clatity..............

The main problem is the sharpness...... When the sharpness if more than 40 I can see the pixcel like thing in the picture.... Now I am satisfied with the picture quality...

    Thx a lot guys

BigTV has the best broadcast to match LCD..

It is so clear that you need to adjust the Contrast etc when switching over frm any other DTH on same TV..

Karthik, first of all, connect ur LCD to good quality DVD/Blueray player, pop in an original DVD and set your Display/Contrast/Color to your best preference (Calibration)

then connect your Big TV to the LCD and check the output. Also make sure that the cables you use is of decent quality. Check whether u have an HDMI option on ur TV as well as on ur STB.

I checked the quality of Big TV from one of the Reliance web world, and I was not able to see any "GREAT" quality in their MPEG4 transmission. Its better than other MPEG2 providers, however the quality is good (picture has very less noise, but if u watch close u still can observe the grain size), if you watch from 12-15 feets far from a 32 inch LCD.

    Question

    Thank you anuplinux.

I accept what ever you said but that Calibration is the biggest problem. If I calibrate first with Hi quality DVD its not matching BIG TV. And also If I do it with HBO runing and its not matching with the SUN TV(Tamil).

Anyway I have made average calibration to match all my fav channels....

Do anyone here know about the component cable and it usage??????

    Whoa! Hang on!

You cannot compare BigTV with HD source such as Blu Ray.

you are right, BIG TV cannot be compared with BlueRay (not even with a good dvd)

Well... i just wanted to use to high quality input to the LCD tv, so that the TV could be adjusted to the best clarity.
