Yes. You can connect any DTH STB output (including BigTV) to the computer's LCD monitor.
If your computer monitor has built-in RCA AV inputs (most unlikely), then just connect like a regular TV.
Else, you need a video capture card or a TV-Tuner card.
Quality of video will depend upon the type of connecting cables used:
a) Composite (Analog RCA Yellow-White-Red): The quality will be SD like
b) Component (Analog RCA Red-Blue-Green): The quality will be HD like but BiGTV source must be HD also.
c) HDMI: The quality will be true-HD.
Monitor must be able to support HD resolutions too.

What do i need that could help in quenching my craving for the extreme 3D experience?
Look for a TV that has FPR and IPS technologies for the best 3D experience. FPR is the technology that supports battery free glasses and also gives a flicker free display. the IPS technology gives a wide viewing range and sets a perfect colour balance which dulls eyesight problems
IPS (in-plane switching) has nothing to do 3D - it is a technology asscociated with LCD panels, including LED backlit/edgelit LCDs.
The LCD panel has some inherent limitations when compared to a Plasma panel. The plasma panel is flicker-free and also has near instantaneous response (typically 0.001 ms). Also plasma is true to black colour whereas LCD is not. The IPS technology somewhat reduces the problems. Its main characteristics and advantages are:
- IPS panels have a fast response time (typically 2-4 ms)
- It can process signals at high speeds without compromising (too much) on data loss
- IPS Panels offer a vivid and clear picture, as well as stable response time of liquid crystal. But in the process it also sacrifices the natural colours (makes them too vivid) - like grass appears too green, flowers too red, etc.
- IPS panels display accurate and consistent color from a very wide viewing angle - almost 170+°. Normal panels can only display partial true color.
- IPS panels don't lighten and show tailing when touched. This makes them ideal for touch screens.
