Reliance executives make promises routinely - mostly slip of the tongue I guess. I regret not going for TATA sky! When you ask to speak to the cust service team leaders - they are always in meetings, on phone calls from 'other customers'. Ive heard a million assurances for the last 9 days of how they would attend immediately. Strongly recommend that you dont touch this product now! Ive lost Rs.2190/- Reliance doesnt give a damn. |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi Readers, I just wanted to share my worst experience with "Reliance BIG TV" DTH Service. First of all I request everybody not to purchase "Reliance BIG TV" connection. Well, to start with I have taken BIG TV "Set Top Box" on 31/Aug/2008 "Invoice No. 0101038073" from one of the Main Web World, Mehdipatnam Branch (Hyderabad). I think initially as a company while selling the product, web world person has to inform me about all the future requirements from my side, but they have not given any kind of information. Actually, one Work Order ID is required in order to have installation for BIG TV, that we can get after calling customer care of BIG TV. But because they have not informed me that I hvae to call Customre care, it was delayed for 2 days, and by chance I called c.care for some other reason on 02/Sep/2008 and got my work order ID. Even after having my work order ID, I have not recieved any call from the Installation team for Installation, I raised complaint for the same also for so many times, but none of any use. Almost everyday for more than 1.5 hours I was calling c.care for any kind of solution and spoke to around more than 12 c.care representatives, to name some of them are :- Sheetal, Usha, Bhaven, Ganesh, Priya and so on and escalated the same issue to some of the senior members as well they are:- Rahul and Bhuvneshwari. Everybody was saying the same thing repeatedly "we are sorry for the inconvinience caused, it will be done asap......etc.....". Till today, i.e. 12/SEP/2008 more than 12 days after purcahse of STB, I am still waiting for the installation.....??? and still have no update.... One more intersting thing, I called c.care to ask "is it possible to return the STB because of bad services", the representative straight forward answered "just go to the web world and return back the STB, they will refund the money", they people are not even concerned about the problem and reason why I asked to return it back. Finally, I request everybody again PLZ PLZ PLZ never go for "Reliance BIG TV", only name is BIG, everything else is small. Rep Power: 0 | It is really a shame, a company so large has almost zero satisfied clients. Everything goes back to the launch of their telecom; the wonderful DAP Reliance fone. Anyway, here now with Satellite Dish I'm looking for one satisfied user but none yet here! With their new MPEG4 technology in place, I was really looking forward to be one of the first lot to jump on BIG TV as many were unhappy with Dish TV, and Tata SKY was ok, nothing really that different from our regular Cable STB. I have called BIG TV several times, in fact the first 2 weeks of launch I never got thru the tel no.; emailed them several times & requested call back for subscription; also no response. Finally, I got thru the other day but the rep could not speak english along to explain the plans so hung up. Decided to check upon the forums here for answers to my queries. Now after reading the horrific story of a consumer who wanted Reliance Broadnet and his email to ADA went unanswered, I don't think anybody we know should get anything Reliance maybe except their stocks. So if there is any satisifed user for Big TV, please do respond & tell me your experience. I'm looking for some plus signs here... PS: Did you guys hear they're launching a DVR STB for Rs.7000 - 8000 early October 2008? Again first in the market. |

Rep Power: 2 | I totally agree with some users that there are difficulty in getting BigTv installed. But its also true being a New Player in market it will take time to cope with so many advanced bookings. I am using it from 1 month now and i seem to be satisfied with the quality and reception. For installation i first sent sms enquiry to BigTv for which i got a reply "thanks for your interest, you will be contacted within 24Hrs, which i didn't. Then i registered online when BigTv was officially launched in Delhi, but to no use again and then i called up Toll free customer care number which was very difficult to get through and registered there and even after 3 days i was not contacted. At last i got a information about neibhourhood dealer dealing in Tata Sky also dealing in BigTv and contacted them. Being a service provider for installation i got it installed same day and all formalities like, Installation, Getting work order, and activation and recharging was done by them itself. Everytime they called up customer care on their own for activations and all other stuffs. I got the information from engineer that many of the features on BigTv will start from 1st November. Like Selection of language on channels like Discovery, pogo, cartoon network. many more channels are being added but it will take another month from now. In last one month i only faced problem 2-3 time for 15 minutes connection went down. It was then it was raining very heavy with great speed winds in Delhi, apart from that it didn't created any problem. And sometimes STB updates itself then also it stops but thats only once in a while. The only thing i dont like is sometime the interface becomes so slow that even changing channels take atleast 2-3seconds. The worst it doesn't have Colors channel till yet. So if you people want it wait for another month if you can . |

Rep Power: 0 | Apart from all the initial problems that are being discussed here, the most important thing i felt like sharing is the picture quality. I did visit couple of web worlds here in Hyderabad and was surprised to see that the video quality is not as good as TS. You might not notice this on a normal TV(picture tube), but when we see the same on a LCD tv the difference is prominent. Somehow the picture is very patchy and not sharp. I asked the guys to adjust the TV's sharpness settings, but it didn't improve much. I though MPEG-4 was better than MPEG-2 , but somehow that doesn't seem to be the case with Reliance STB. I am not sure if the problem is with the TV, the STB or Reliance transmission. Thats precisely the reason I had to rethink on my decision on going for Reliance DTH. Did anyone else notice this difference. pls share your experiences. |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi Friend, Actually by saying MPEF-4 technology, Reliance is making fool of customers in terms of quality. As far as I know MPEG-4 has nothing to do with the transmission quality, but it can simply transmit more number of channels as compared to MPEF-2 or others.......! But, again I request you not to go for BIG TV, go for any other Small TV, that will be much much better than this I am sure. Regards, Akhilesh Gupta |

Rep Power: 2 | You may buy the Set top box from any shop paying Rs. 1990 or Rs. 2190 and dial their toll free no. 1800 200 9001 and register for installation. Your dish and STB will be installed by the technicians. But when? Wait - Wait - Wait. Someday, sometime they may come.!!!! |

Friends Dont believe this Channel List. u wont get any Zee networks Channel,No HBO,Aaj Thak etc..U will only get 130 channels if u want HBO U need to pay 240 INR.SO guy Dont Go and buy Big TV. after all u know it is Reliance.................... Big TV Cutomer Yeah Even they cut Neo sports at the time of Match. |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi, I'm first buyer of BIG TV in Kothrud / Pune area. Bought it on day 1 of launch and first from WebWorld in kothrud. I thought, as tested in more than 2000 town this service should not face any problem, but believe me... day one and I had 1st problem Problem 1: Not getting all channels. After numerous calls to customer care with no resolution, I found the solution by some experiments. You may read it here... parag-mylife.blogspot.com Problem 2: Opt for some package While buying, as I was in hurry, I took up some popular 12 months package later to realize that it wont give me much on TV and I need some more channels. The package wqas not applied to my connection and Technically I should be able to opt for a lower package, 3 months premium, till then. But arrogant customer care guy started quarreling like a street side vendor and asked me to talk to the one who sold me connection. Wow! "Raste Ka Maal Saste Me". Problem 3: Slow channel switching Now the new problem is Very Slow Channel Changing thing. Believe me it as slow as ... a cow sleeping on road. (I could not find any better example...) Problem 4: Blackout that too Frequent you are in the middle of action in some movie... and blackout or better a magical Blue Screen! "Wow! What you need better to enjoy that precious evening at home." So guys think before doing that BIG thing!!!! |

As far as south Indians are concerned, they must provide almost all channels of South region comprising, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhrapradesh and Karnataka. It should also contain more English channels, Sports Channels, Children Channels etc, North dose can be reduced proportinately. More News channels in English may also be provided. |

Rep Power: 0 | i have bought big tv,and the day i bought it my problem started.firstly after buying they said they didnt responded and delayed the installation ie on 5th day they installed it.Then signals were not clear,and now every five minutes it is hanged if u change channels 2-3 times your channels are hanged. even after calling customer care they are not bothered to rectify there software their persone came and suggested so many things but nothing much worked out. so my advise to all that dont buy it and even popular channel like colors is not available with big tv. |

Rep Power: 2 | I was under the impression that I hav to subscribe separately for Colors channel cuz that was the message I got on my TV screen but when I contacted customer care they took my subscibe id and said it would be activated within 4 hours antd that I don't have to pay anything extra. So I should be able to see "Colors" this evening. I will update u once I get it |

Rep Power: 2 | from 14/01/2009 till today without paying anything i am able to see the ColorsTv Channel and i even didn't subscribed for it. My package was 3990 for 1 year. Hope it continues like this only i think they included it in my my plan by default |
