Thread: Reliance Big TV Launching Soon

Well we all know how popular Dish TV and Tata Sky and now there will soon be Reliance Communications (RCom) DTH (direct to home) service, which will soon be launched in India, the service will be under Big TV. Although the service has not been launched in India there is big hype about this service from Reliance and will probably beat the Dish TV and Tata Sky popularity. Reliance Communications is a company which has the largest set top box contracts, they have recently placed an order of over 5million boxes, which are with vendors from Korea, Taiwan and China. The set top boxes from Reliance Communications are MPEG4 enabled and these boxes would cost between $50 to $60 per box in the global market, but these prices will be reasonably low from Reliance Communications. With only a few weeks left till the launch of Big TV, order have already been placed, and I’m sure there will be great demand for Big TV.

I wont be surprised if Reliance Big TV starts giving connections with free installation and free set top box to get an edge over Tata Sky and Dish TV and get a huge number of customers in a very short period of time...... only time will tell!

i say i m the guy who's desperate to shift to DTH from cable , looking at tech. side i am willing to prefer big tv over what's available presently , but god knows when is it gng for commercial launch ? i called it's customer care and they told us that DTH is presently available for those having reliance PCO and adviced me to buy a PCO if i want it now , but i simply can't take PCO as 14 hours of daytime i spend in office nyways.

i asked them if they can give me any tentative dates for launch and they were null about them , i know i can't wait much , and i know once i take a decision there r lil or no chances of gng back , so just like that every1 should understand the value of running time.
