    Default problems with big tv

    Hi friends ,
    i am new to the forum and need some help.I got my installation
    done only yesterday , after opting for the Rs 2490 package and subscribing
    to the premium pack ( 146 channels according to the brochure ) but i am only
    receiving 96 tv channels and no pay per view channels, no radio channels and
    most of the star and some of the network 18 channels are missing.
    I am not receiving full signal strength ( 2 bars are blank on the signal
    strength status display ).Could that be a reason for not receiving all the channels.
    Please help.Thanking you all.

    I think you should immediately contact the Customer care of Big TV and tell them your status.

    I request you to kindly post your comment after you do the above so that all of us get to learn more from your experience.

    I think you are the first customer of big TV who has posted in the forum
    keeps us posted about the details and the quality of service

    How does MPEG 4 format look, is it good?

    Default BIG Problem with BIG TV!!

    Hi friends,
    I have joined this forum just now to give vent to my anger :taz: against BIG TV. I purchased the set top box four days ago and the installation was done after three days after repeated phone calls to customer care. The installation was done rather haphazardly!! With the result, I have been getting only Gyan Darshan and no other channel. I have made several phone calls for the past 24 hours to customer care and all that has happened is I have been given a request (complaint) number. No service engineer has atteded or set right the problem.

    Has anyone had a similar harrowing experience?

    Hello Kangaroo,
    Reliance in genral has a reputation of closing complaints without resolving them and in your case the only way is to keep calling them again and again till they set it right.

    By the way did you not check when the installation guys were ate your place if its working or not?

    Angry Channles asking to pay.....

    Hi Friends,

    Suddenly today I lost all the channels. I bought 1 year BigTV subscription and recharged with another 400RS (2190rs package for 1 year+400 rs recharge coupon). Now I am getting only Gyan Darshan and the Cinema Preview channel. All other channels are asking to pay or subscribe. I called customer service and they told there are many customers having the same issue They told to wait for another 72 hours. If there are many customers with same issue why don’t they resolve it as soon as possible or do something so the issue won't occur again.

    Default big tv service restored

    Hi friends ,
    i have been using big tv for the last 15 days.The picture and sound
    quality is good but service is very bad.First of all it took 3 days and numerous
    phone calls for them to install my system.But i was receiving no sound so the techician told me that they would replace the stb the next day.I was supposed to receive 186 channels but my system showed only 96 channels.
    The technician didnot come the next day.After 5 days ,numerous
    phone calls and lastly after i disclosed my right to approach the consumer disputes redressal forum the technician comes and downloads an upgrade
    to the stb software and now i am getting 186 channels but no colors channel.
    I hope they improve their services or they are bound to loose a lot of
    customers.Is tata sky any better . Current users please let me know.

    Call the customer service team up and ask when someone will be able to come round and solve the problem, its quite difficult to get your problem solved these days so if they no one turns up, call them up again and again until someone does come round.

    It could be a possibility that there is a problem with the installation.

    Hello Friends,
    After repeated phone calls to the customer care and a real fight with the manager of the show room whereI purchased the set top box and a threat to return the STB and that I would go to consumer court for a refund, finally they took my welcome kit number and set it right. Thank God, Now I am getting all the channels. The audio and video qualty is good. Hope it continues this way

    Hi prajesh ,
    i too am having the same problem for the last two days. cc gave a complaint no and that's it no action till date on their part ( only empty promises ).I am now cursing myself for opting for big tv. I would advice every one not to even think of going for big tv.
    I heard they are targetting a user base of 5 lakhs in 6 months with this kind of service i
    would be surprised if they can retain 5 customers for 5 days even.If this continues for
    some more days i am going to return the stb and the dish and reinstall my cable connection.

    Hi friends,
    I am subscribing to BIG TV for the past one month.Installation,audio video clarity everything was fine.Due to some reasons my DTH service was not in use for the last 10 days and when I switched it on yesterday,none of the channels are available,even though I've got 1 year subscription.When I called the CC to report the problem,I was told to reset the STB and wait for two hours.But still the problem remains unsolved..Any suggestions..?And one more thing,If DTH is not used for a few days will it be deactivated by default.?

    I also had same issue rather still have issue. Once I started getting only the Preview channel (101) and the Gyan Darshan channel (556 I guess). All other channels are asking to subscribe. I raised ca complaint after several call (more than 10 call) after 3 days the channel came automatically.

    After one week all the calls including preview and the gyan darshan gone, no message to subscribe also, I called support as usual they told it will be corrected within 24 hours. I waited for 2 weeks and many calls. One I asked to transfer the call to supervisor and thy transferred and I was on hold for 1 HOUR 5 Minutes and the call disconnected without any Supervisor. I was not having a speaker phone and I was holding the receiver from 1 hour 5 minutes


    Next day I changed the set-top box settings to factory reset and went to channel scanning it shows poor signal message with a small red mark as the signal status. I asked my brother to try changing the position of the disc (through phone) till I started getting s green bar to for the complete and signal strength as good. Then started scanning all the channels.

    After scanning I started getting the 101 and the gyan darshan channel again and no other channels.

    I am Very very frustrated with their support. I was always getting an agent named SANDEEP, he always tells there are many sandeep he was not the one who answered before. When I asked supervisor he tolls there is only one supervisor for the whole Bangalore available now. What a SERVICE................................

    Still the issue pending.... No BIG TV FOR PAST ONE MONTH.

    if you are getting subscrible the channel message, don't worry. Try 101 Cinema review channle and the 556 Gyan darshan channel and raise a complaint. It will be correct within 3-4 days.

    There are lot if issues yet to come...

    I'm getting Preview channel and Gyan darshan.Also,all channels are available in the "select" mode.Any Idea why this happened..??

    I am also getting all the channle in the Select preview. This is a known issue and they need two to 3 days to update the details. I think once you give a complaint, they will send a mail to activate your channles.

    Thay told that my registration details are not completed as they don't received the address proof and other details ( i have given to the technician who installed the dish). Check the details when you call. You ask then about your current plan and the amount you have in your account.

    Note: Since you are getting some channels now, don't play with the dish, dish position is correct.

    My connection was working for 2-3 weeks from the date of purchase.Then for the next two weeks it was not used.The STB was switched on not even once in the past two weeks.I'm using south india starter pack(Rs2100,1year subscription).is there any method to know our account status,I mean the validity and all..???

    Mine also same package. Issue started after two weeks. You can call the ustomer support and ask them the details like, your plan listed there and if any recharge u have done (just ask, so that they will check if an account is update correctly). If it is updated corrcetly, they will give you the details. If u'r details also is not update, then we can make sure that this issue is due to improper registration.

    Note: I am (was) getting all 182 channels since the details are not updated properly.

    yes, once everything is updated, you will receive only the channels in your 2100 plan. May be around 160 I gues..

    that means 20 channels less than what I was getting.What all channels will be missing thn??

    I called them more than 20 times for the same issue.. Once the agent (Sandeep) transferred me to a supervisor and I was on hold for one hour 5 minutes and then got disconnected.

    Today I called and asked the details and he told that the case is showing as closed I am here without any channles for 3 weeks and they told that the case is closed. There customer service really SUCk... He then put me on hold without tinformingme, two times and I waited for 20 minutes on hold, then he disconnected my call.

    The CC really sucks.It has been more than 3 days since I lost my subscription.Every time I call the CC they says the problem have been reported to the concerned section.Reliance Big TV is a BIG BIG mistake

    Hi All,

    I got this Big TV connection 1 month ago and everything was going well until last Sunday when i suddenly lost all the Channels. Now I am getting only the Cinema Preview channel. All other channels are asking me to pay or subscribe.

    Now comes the most amazing part. I called customer service and the guy told me it will take 10 days to solve the issue. I got pissed off and asked him the reason for such a long delay and he cooly said that's the policy. So i asked him to transfer my call to his manager for which he said there are no managers in his company(!!!!). When i asked if i am speaking to the owner of the company his response was like do what you want to do. His name was Shankar.T and i have logged a complaint in Big TV website. Not sure if at all some one will read it but guys with such attitudes should be chucked out of the company. Now i dunno if i will ever get my signals back.
