How will we search the hidden channels in big tv??

What exactly do you mean by hidden channels?

You will get the channels for the package you subscribed for + the regional bouquet you opted + Cinema Halls (Pay per View).

I think he is asking for the kids channel, kids over 18

You will need to turn the power on on the big tv set top box and then do 15 situps after that and then restart it again and turn the power on.. this time only do 5 situps after turning it on and keep repeating this untill you find the hidden channels...

God knows! Or maybe its something that someone just made up for the sake of it, or it could even be someone coming in the near future.

Guys by Hidden Channels he means to say the channels which are not in the package.
In the set top box there are settings where the codes are entered for the respective channels ...
I guess he wants the codes for the channels which he has not subscribed for.

Thats new is that something available on all DTH services or just Big TV?

Well i have heard as well as seen that guy when he comes to set up your DTH service he feeds in codes.When asked he said those codes are for the channels that we have subscribed to.

Now this made me think that this guy who has started this thread meant the unsubscribed channels as hidden channels.I dont know whats Big TV.Never heard of it.

Well actually we can also relate this to the concept of promiscuous mode.
As the DTH unit catches waves because it is configured to do so ,the catch here is that ..it is configured to accept only the waves or channel frequencies which that Box is allowed to interpret.
But in reality it is receiving all the waves those are being transmitted.
So its simple, reprogram the DTH box and you get all that you want.And probably there is no monitoring mechanism which could reveal which all frequencies you are receiving.Hence no one can track you on this.
Well its all my reasoning .Please comment if you guys think that its not possible?
Or also if you think that i am going wrong completely or partially.

Yes, the satellite and STB receives signals for all channels but there is a credit card size "Viewing Card" (VC) that contains a chip. This chip contains info about the subscriber and the channels that he has subscribed to. It is automatically programmed remotely from the HQ via the satellite. The VC controls what channels be decoded (and watched) and what channels are not accessible.

The installer person just enters the user details (STB Number and VC Number) into the database. The VC is tied to the STB. It will not work in any other STB. In my flat, I have two dish TV connections but the VC of one STB does not work the other STB and vice versa.

BIGTV is a DTH service from Reliance (ADAG) group. It is the latest entrant into the DTH space.

Ohh ....and what about Tata Sky?
Does it also have the same mechanism?
Because i remember seeing the guy while setting it up entering some codes and when asked he said those are codes for channels.I dont remember which service it was ....

It is the same for Tata Sky also. Dealer enters the code to activate the account.

i think he is talking about those channels which are not included in his package, if you mean something like this then best idea is the one suggested by admin

There is some STB called Dreambox that allows viewing of all channels - paid or unpaid. I have no idea whether it really works or whether it is available in India.

What I had read that with a Dreambox you can tap into any satellite (as long as you have the co-ordinates and know how to align your dish to it).

I think hidden channels means viewing FTA channels which are not part of the package are not identified by STB when scanned. There is a provision for this in tata sky thru secret menu where you can enter Frequency LNB pid details. In sun dth also there is a provision where we can enter all the details to receive the channels.

Hidden channel is der in Big TV over 15 channels were hidden? I dont know the codes? But they are going to add thos channels to Normal package soon....All The guys who tease at Hidden channel also ther is another news we can view other DTH services channen with STB we also unblock channels...........Trick sumthing lik pressing and holding two keys on the remote?
