Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

To become a good professional photographer requires some degree of talent and creativity, artistry, knowledge of different photographic techniques, business acumen and a deep interest in learning new ways to produce the best results. To be a successful wedding photographer there are some things that should be known that will guide the novice on their journey to professionalism. It is necessary for a wedding photographer to be completely competent. Remember he or she is going to be responsible for capturing a couple’s very special moment. Producing creative and artistic pictures with your camera can only come about from having complete knowledge of the skill.Having a camera whether new, cheap or expensive will not automatically classify you as an efficient, reliable or artistic photographer. Wedding photography is a lot more than having the right equipment. A photographer has to be able to bring out their own artistry, know about composition and how to get the perfect shot.

Broadband bundles getting popular in the UK

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

Broadband bundles are nothing but broadband in combination with TV, mobile or phone. Different broadband service providers offer different combination packages. Up to 3 services can also be combined with broadband. When such packages are purchased it can save a great deal of money, but it is important to figure out the one that suits you the best. It should be ensured that you use all services of the broadband bundle paid for. Picking up one such package depends on various factors like number of users, the type of service preferred most etc. Generally, providers charge less for broadband bundles than for standalone broadband. Some offer free modem, free mobile talk time, free TV channels, unlimited speed, etc. A single charge is levied and one customer service centre caters to sort issues relating to all services in the package.

AOL, Pipex, PlusNet, Sky, TalkTalk, Tiscali, Toucan and Virgin provide broadband with home phone and mobile. Those offering TV services along with broadband are Sky, Tiscali and Virgin. Virgin is the first broadband service provider to provide “quad play” services by combining TV, Internet, mobile phone and fixed-line telephone. The more the number of services in one package the lesser the package costs. It is always beneficial to go by the services required than by the cost.

Though bundling has its own advantages like single bill, single contact point fro customer service etc, it has its own set of cons like contract period, one faulty service affecting all other services, over dependence on one single provider even if services aren’t good. It definitely pays to read the finer print too while settling for a bundle.

Age of a domain doesnt matter any more on serps

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

I have been experimenting for years now to get a close idea of Google’s alog which they use to rank pages on search engine results pages. The first thing I would like to share is that everything else being nearly constant, the age of a domain where the page resides has lost its importance as far as Google is conscerned and its been the same with Msn for some time now although I have not watched MSN that much to give a strong statement here.

The reason I am writing this post is that I have three of my sites showing up in top 5 on Google for extremely competitive keywords and none of them is older then six months so if you are a new webmaster and keep worrying about your site’s age then just stop worrying about it now as Google is not worried about the age any more.. well at least for the time being may be it will change back again. You must have also noticed that new pages even on very new domains get indexed instantly which looks like a move from Google to confuse us webmasters even more as experimenting with results has become even more difficult with this development. Another thing I would like to bring to my readers notice is that the so called “Google bombing” has still not been sorted as it is now possible to rank well for even those keywords which you don’t have on your page.. even the whole domain as I have a few sites set up just to keep track on this front and they have started ranking well again after this Google’s paid link weeding campaign which started mid last year and is still going on. Google results now also seem to weigh new links more then old established ones as compared to about say six months back as the amount of push pages get (very poorly ranking pages I am talking about here to keep error to a minimum while quantifying the effect of a new inlink).

Critic please :)  if you have any.

Televisions

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Television has undergone a lots of improvements since it was first built in 1928. There is no remote control at that time. The entire wonder consisted of a disk, a light (which tended to make the images orange in appearance) and a moderate need for electricity.By the 1930`s, televisions (televisores) had evolved to all electrical components. The typical screen was about 6X8 inches and generally was mounted in a much larger cabinet. By the late 1930`s televisions were made by several manufacturers in the United States and throughout Europe and the Soviet Union. Technically, the ability to produce programs in color occurred in the late 1940`s, however it was in the mid 1960`s that major broadcasters began to produce their programming in color. Early colored televisions did not provide exact color replication. One often noticed unnatural tint which was correctable by manipulating the `tint` dial on the television.

Virtual home tours

Monday, January 21st, 2008

The use of a virtual tour has become very popular in today’s busy world. Take the example of a prospective home buyer, you may not have time to go and see different houses, so you may find it easier to go on line and take a virtual home tour. You may not see all the details, but at least you can decide whether or not the house is worth seeing live. But do you know what it takes to make a virtual tour? Virtual home tours are the new ways of advertising homes that are for sale.Normal photos can give anyone an idea about the house they are trying to see, but everyone should agree they are not very accurate. Depending on where the photographer was when he or she took the pictures, the house may appear either bigger or smaller than it really is. Panoramic photography allows the viewer to take a virtual tour of the house – that way anyone can truly say they have “visited” the house.
