Read about Unity and other under-sea cable systems that Indian ISPs (Airtel for example) are taking active role in. By the end of 2009, ISPs in India will be able to offer 2 Mbps Unmetered connection and by the end of 2011, 8 Mbps unmetered should be available. No ISP in India by themselves can offer huge amounts of bandwidth because there isn’t any incoming capacity lines, and whatever is available is being utilized to the max.

Read about Unity and other under-sea cable systems that Indian ISPs (Airtel for example) are taking active role in. By the end of 2009, ISPs in India will be able to offer 2 Mbps Unmetered connection and by the end of 2011, 8 Mbps unmetered should be available.

If not a joke then what else are they talking about 8MBPS for 760$. This only for an internet connection. In the other Asian countries like Japan and Korea normal internet connectivity starts at 50MBPS. Calling ourselves as a nation with a strong IT force looks like a farce. What are the other ISP services doing. Aren't anybody able to price the internet comparable atleast to US standards. Can't we provide unlimited internet @ 6mbps for 50$ or Rs.2000/-. Looks liek we are headed downhill instead of raising our heads and moving forward. God Bless India with a world standard Internet connection at affordable rates. Here people aren't able to even get 128KBPS unlimited connection as it's priced at Rs.699/- PM where as in US 2MBPS unlimited connection is available for $25 i.e. Rs.1100/- PM & moreover Indian ISP's don't know that doubling the internet connection speed won't just double Cost. So i think this 8MBPS unlimited internet connection here in India would cost 32000/-($760)PM then who will be able to get this connection, it would be costing a months salary!!!
