Airtel and BSNL broadband: A comparison

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

Airtel broadband advantages

Airtel broadband service is considered to have a more organized, better customer support as compared to that provided by BSNL.

Airtel comes equipped with extra features, luring customers with varied interests. Airtel has recently come up with an on-demand usage scheme wherein the customer pays for as much as he/she uses. This plan will help Airtel stand strongly against less expensive service providers like BSNL.

BSNL broadband advantages

Thanks to the dedicated and wide network, BSNL’s broadband service has a wider reach compared to any service provider operating in India. The service reaches even the rural areas, unlike other major service providers.

BSNL’s broadband service is considered to be more cost-effective that other broadband service providers, making it a popular choice in an economical perspective.

Airtel broadband drawbacks

Compared to BSNL’s broadband service, the Airtel broadband service requires its subscribers to shell out more money.

BSNL broadband drawbacks

BSNL broadband’s popularity has made people queue up for its service. However, the long delay in getting a broadband connection may actually deflect the pursuers to another broadband service provider.

BSNL has not been known for its customer service. Its poor customer support is credited to its state-owned status.

Both the services are popular in their own right.

India broadband forum launched

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

There are tens of Internet service providers available in India to choose from and hardly any resources to find out more information abut how good or bad the service provider is or read reviews so we at India broadband thought of launching a new forum which is now all set to hit the world wide web at India broadband forum and already has some serious discussions going on amongst the few embers we have.

At broadband forum we have different sections for major isp’s like airtel broadband, reliance broadband, bsnl broadband, mtnl broadband, sify broadband and hathway broadband to name a few and for the ones which are not listed in the forum one can talk about them in the common area which is open for discussions about all other service provider which makes it more then complete. Broadband forum has future plans for adding a new forum featuring sections like tata sky and dish tv besides oter dth service providers. Broadband forum also intends to cater to the needs of mobile phone users by providing a platform for sharing mobile service reviews and providing latest news on the countries gsm industry.

Broadband forum also features a separate wimax forum which caters to needs of those looking for more information on wimax related services across India. There are a few reliance wimax reviews available already although it has only been about a month since it was launched in Bangalore.

Registration at the new website is free at the forum and reading others comments does not require membership at broadband forum . The new forum uses vbulletin script for the convenience of our members and visitors which make communicating with other members a lot more easier, fun and exciting. Members can also see other members skype and yahoo messenger status on the profile pages which will take socializing to the next level.

Airtel’s 8Mbps plan rolled out

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Airtel has announced thier new 8Mbps plans and are working on the new pricing right now.. according to the sources the price will be somewhere in the region of Rs2000-2500 per month but this speed comes with a few drawbacks one of them being a less then 10Gb cap for monthly usage which is a shame as with an 8mbps speed you can download that much within a few hours so I dont see much point in such speeds when you cant make full use of it.

Airtel has been strugling to give the promised speeds to those who have a 2Mbps connection so I am not sure how thier networks will cope with a massive surge in demand due to new 8Mbps rollout in the near future unless they have plans to make thier network better with new hardware and ofcourse a better customer service attitude. If you would like to discuss or read furthur about Airtel broadband please feel free to register at the broadband forum and share your views aswell.
