Reliance data card : There are a lot of wireless internet options available in India now for instance airtel data card and hutch data cards which has now changed to vodafone data card and tata indicom and reliance are also offering wireless internet at very affordable rates but when compared to UK prices are still very high in India as one can get a wireless broadband connection using 3g technology at £10 per month from 3g and Vodafone and speeds are faster then 256kbps with the added advantage o being able to go anywhere within the UK.
I have got this reliance wireless data card and to be honest I don’t like it that much when I compare the speed with what I get in UK as some pages take ages to open leave alone establishing an ftp connection with my servers…
I normally have to do a lot of ftp work as I have a number of clients for whom I take care of their servers located in Germany and USA which obviously require me to have a good internet connection all the time although I have a team of guys working 24/7 but there are still some problems which they cannot take care of themselves and have to refer those problems to me. I am now looking at buying a teaming software and have at least three wireless connections one another laptop and use a LAN network on another laptop so that I would get access to the best network at all times but then this comes with its own set of problems for example if I am doing some work on a server I will be logged out every time my ip address changes.. I guess will wait for 3g
for the time being reliance data card is doing the trick.
Just for info: Mahape has the most number of reliance data card subscribers.
There are tens of Internet service providers available in India to choose from and hardly any resources to find out more information abut how good or bad the service provider is or read reviews so we at India broadband thought of launching a new forum which is now all set to hit the world wide web at India broadband forum and already has some serious discussions going on amongst the few embers we have.
At broadband forum we have different sections for major isp’s like airtel broadband, reliance broadband, bsnl broadband, mtnl broadband, sify broadband and hathway broadband to name a few and for the ones which are not listed in the forum one can talk about them in the common area which is open for discussions about all other service provider which makes it more then complete. Broadband forum has future plans for adding a new forum featuring sections like tata sky and dish tv besides oter dth service providers. Broadband forum also intends to cater to the needs of mobile phone users by providing a platform for sharing mobile service reviews and providing latest news on the countries gsm industry.
Broadband forum also features a separate wimax forum which caters to needs of those looking for more information on wimax related services across India. There are a few reliance wimax reviews available already although it has only been about a month since it was launched in Bangalore.
Registration at the new website is free at the forum and reading others comments does not require membership at broadband forum . The new forum uses vbulletin script for the convenience of our members and visitors which make communicating with other members a lot more easier, fun and exciting. Members can also see other members skype and yahoo messenger status on the profile pages which will take socializing to the next level.
I applied for a reliance broadband connection back in January first week as you might have read in the forum where I have posted a very detailed thread about this. The main movive behind applying for a new reliance connection was to review thier services for our members on the forum so every one can get a first hand account of how it all went but its a shame that Reliance failed to keep all thier promises, Firstly they promised that I will get a phone call from the sales team within 72 hours which never happened and its been a few months now. The second promise was that the connection will be up and running within seven days but since then many seven days have gone by with no sign of the internet connection.I am still waiting for reliance to get in touch with me and in the mean time I have called them more then ten times to make sure they have my detail which they confirm every time that they do but unfortunately they dont do anything about it.
