will somebody can please suggest the most useful stick used in laptop for internet connection to a person travelling all over India(in terms of speed and cost effectiveness both purchase and recurring cost)

I have used mts internet usb stick.
I was very satisfied with the speed.
I never had to call the customer service.
Google mts india internet stick
Stick is Rs 1500.00 aprox,
and monthly prepaid is about Rs. 900.00 for 10 gig
at speed up to 3 mbs. (I didn’t always get this speed but it was pretty good for watching youtube).
I would use mts again.

I am planing to go to India – Hyderabad and work there for 1 month and looking for the best and speedy connection via the USB card. Could you please suggest which one is the best among the list of providers we have at the moment? I am ok with the price but I need the very best/reliable/fast connection.

btw, if speedy net is not the highest priority and considering terrains, a BSNL 2G sim is must.. which can give you a good edge network speed at most places.. 3G will work effectively in many non hilly areas.. and thats not too costly either..

one can lower down images, higher up compression (like using opera 10 browser) and can surf quite easily..

i have personally found bsnl very helpful in many interior regions of Uttarakhand(where even local people dont unnecessarily roam).. bsnl 2G can give you basic internet access there.. for rest of the urban areas BSNL can be useful with its evdo services if available..(check locally on their website)..

if you can mention properly your area of stay(you mentioned Kashipur, so thats quite at many place all over India)..

btw, if you are talking about Kashipur(Udhamsingh Nagar Province Uttarakhand) than you can do with any of the data cards available.. and bsnl 3g sims are also working there.. i have tested myself..

a reliance data card will do in the plains and for terrains like the himalayans one may require a bsnl sim card for basic internet surfing (probably you will sacrifice with speeds and costs are high on non ul schemes) but thats the best thing you can get at a place where there are no speedy internet available.

will it be possible to connect to internet using Iphone as modem and Idea card?
Do I have to buy a special sim card?

I will arrive in Delhi within a month and would like to get internet connection for my notebook.

my questions:
- how much is the buying prize of the Reliance data card?
- after buying teh card, is there any monthly fee with a minimum duration of subscription?
- is there a monthly flat rate or cost depending on volume used?

Even better if I could use the USB stick I am using right now here in Europe! Since I stay only short time I do not have any subscription with a flatrate but instead use a prepaid service, cost depends on data volume ransfer. For that I have a USB stick which carries a normal phone SIM card that can be exchanged. Do you know if I Indian SIM cards are available to connect to the internet? I guess they are to be used on phones.. Wouldthey also work in my USB stick. If so, howmuch is cost? Would it also work in remote areas? ( e.g. around Karwar / Gokarna in north western Karnataka? )

Could let us know how we can access the internet using MTNL 3G service. currently i am able to access the internet while in EDGE mode but not in 3G mode.
i am using iphone to access the 3G service.

I feel Reliance data card is truly Kar lo paisa muthi mein.. all sorts of hidden charges..
i would suggest to try Idea or Tata photon.
