Reliance data card : There are a lot of wireless internet options available in India now for instance airtel data card and hutch data cards which has now changed to vodafone data card and tata indicom and reliance are also offering wireless internet at very affordable rates but when compared to UK prices are still very high in India as one can get a wireless broadband connection using 3g technology at £10 per month from 3g and Vodafone and speeds are faster then 256kbps with the added advantage o being able to go anywhere within the UK.
I have got this reliance wireless data card and to be honest I don’t like it that much when I compare the speed with what I get in UK as some pages take ages to open leave alone establishing an ftp connection with my servers…
I normally have to do a lot of ftp work as I have a number of clients for whom I take care of their servers located in Germany and USA which obviously require me to have a good internet connection all the time although I have a team of guys working 24/7 but there are still some problems which they cannot take care of themselves and have to refer those problems to me. I am now looking at buying a teaming software and have at least three wireless connections one another laptop and use a LAN network on another laptop so that I would get access to the best network at all times but then this comes with its own set of problems for example if I am doing some work on a server I will be logged out every time my ip address changes.. I guess will wait for 3g 
for the time being reliance data card is doing the trick.
Just for info: Mahape has the most number of reliance data card subscribers.

I used Airtel Datacard Edge..It’s good depending upon the Area..If u just move away, To be frank it’s really slower than Mobile internet..Mostly it work in night times..DON’T GO FOR AIRTEL OR ANY OTHER EXCEPT BSNL 3G..It’s costly but works a lot..
I too suffered a lot in data card. before get a data card, he told so many features .. he said like no need to first month bill second month you have to pay in 50%, i trusted all his non sense words. and bought a card. then i came to knw the real of the data card. next month i i got a bill , it was 4000rs bill without using anything. I was raising a compaint regard this. No response from customer care. Daily i was getting a call , n expalined everything them daily. BUt no use simply say i wil get back to you. then another excutive came home . and threaten me . He was very local guy. He had intention to get the money . I exaplained everything. he himself said no use if u hve raised the compaint. then i decided to pay all the money. finaly i thought to deactivate the card permanently. the customer care said , it will take 1 month to deactivate so you have pay the next month bill now itself. What the hell is , why should I pay ? Cant you terminate on that day? If you cant, then how do you deactivate the connection if we havent made payment on bill date?
Its really really ridiculous..
I suggest others who are looking for Data Card, Please please please..
Befor get a new card, check all the palns. Dont trust the excutive. They have intention to sell the card so they are lying but we dont know anything .. they are trying to convince to buy. please beaware…
Before sell the card, they will say manythings, after that they will make us fool.

If you are in India get yourself a BSNL broadband Wifi connection, it better than the best! I have Reliance HSD too, but having faced enough problem of frequent disconnection, I changed over to BSNL and I am quite content. Talking about Reliance HSD, the company has an amazing tenacity to come out with more convincing lies and false claims, campaign after campaign. They claim the product is under direct supervision of Mr. Anil Ambani! In case that’s right then Mr. Ambani should take the pain to browse the web and go through the feedback given by scores of disgruntled customers. Mr. Hrithik Roshan who is the brand ambassador for the product, too should reconsider his decision on endorsing a product which isn’t delivering what it claims. Mr. Ambani please ask your project team to individually call each and every customer in next one month and collate information on quality and consistency of your product. Last but not the least, Mr. Anil Ambani Sir, please institute a mechanism to hire professionals in your customer care team and not bunch of amateurs who can neither comprehend our problem nor communicate properly!

Its my humble request to all never by a Reliance data card. They are just Bloody choors. Speed is so slow and service very poor. I am feeling cheated.They charge you etc money for no thing. If some one has bought DATACARD PLEASE use it fully and do;t pay them any thing,and throw datacad in deep GUTTER
Pl Don’t buy Reliance Data card… Its getting very slow. 12kbps.. even 1x is better.

I purchased Reliance USB modem(3.1 mbps) in feb 2010. It performs well till 2 months after that I am facing lot of problems like frequently disconnection, very poor speed. I am getting 19 kbps down load speed over 3.1 mbps. I complained many times but didn’t get any solution even very poor response from customer care.
Still facing problems without any solution. I would suggest never ever purchase Reliance Data Card.

I recently started using the reliance data card 60 hours a month plan (high speed data plan 750 rupees + taxes of Rs.100).i.e roughly 2 hrs a day.Please be aware that the billing cycle is every 25th.So if you start on the 20th you will be charged for the 5days not hours you use.your bill will be prorated for 5days at Rs25 per day for this plan.I ended up paying Rs450.00 for just 20 hours of use in the first month.Another problem is when you connect the user log says some thing…so many hours used ..but it is not correct.Your actual usage according to Reliance is very different.The second month though I had used only 42 hours out of 60 “free” hours according to the log,the bill i received was for 92 hours.So instead of 750 + ~12% tax I got a bill for Rs.2200.00 .The answer i got from them is that I may have not “physically disconnected” the device from my laptop and so was charged for the “extra” hours used.The connection log is not accurate and that is mentioned in small letters on the opening page!I don’t understand how the connection log cannot be accurate.Is there a way we can complain to anyone about this-The telecom regulatory authority or somebody…

After reading all the post’s I came to conclusion not to buy Reliance Data card.I was thinking to buy Reliance low speed data card 1x CDMA but now dropped the plan.

Yes. I also have been cheated by Reliance Datacard which I purchased in October 2009 from Delhi. Gradually, as the connectivity became slower the tariff began to rise. Finally, after having taken the monthly fee, the agent at the counter forgot to enter in the computer for it was not working at the time they disconnected me without any warning.
