problem while opening website in internet explorer

I have BSNl Broadbank My modem is SmartAX MT882. When I open website in IE6 in the status line message appear "Website found. Waiting for reply" and noting appear but I am able to open page in FireFox. Kindly solve my problem. Send me reply on jhaverijk@yahoo.com
