Its actually Hollywood Making a foray into Indian Cinema ....not the other way around
    Now dont misunderstand me....
I am not saying Indians are bad at Animation .....We have some top class animation artistes in India ... But generally the Indian Film industry has been very reluctant to explore new territories .....And when they did like in "Krish" they did it half heartedly [with low budget...they wanted to test its success on India audience it seems!] ....... So Indian Animation industry is still in its Infancy ......Long way to go .....

Hollywood has long been trying to enter the Indian Market .....This is an offshoot of this attempt ......
If you have nt already heard Hollywood houses have bought of distribution rights for some upcoming films [Hindi Films] in India ....

Indian Animation artistes are involved in Many Major animation projects[out sourced] for Hollywood ..all major Hollywood films with a lot of animation have an Indian Hand in it ......

Thats a point Road Side Romeo not being the first animated movie, which one was it then! In my mind all that comes up is that film Ganesha but it was part animated!

several years ago there was a film on ram/sita/ravan......... was it the first then ????
it was a nice animation movie.

    .

    yup, I have confirmed it.
"Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama" was the first indian-animation film. though it was a joint India-japan venture.

And that 'japan joint' made all the difference in the movie. But it was a 2d animation film.

India have never made a successful 2D animation yet. 2D animation is harder than 3D. Because the main part of 2D animation is shadow, midtone & highlight. That controls everything in 2D animation. And it's automatic in 3D animations.

hey dear r u talking bout the krish acted by hritik than sorry to say that that VFX work of that movie was also not that guud i mean like matchmoving stuff and wire removing things are not that guuud in that movie......nd this is rite that Hollywood has long been trying to enter the Indian Market......as we can see this as result for slumdog M........all the animation part of RSR was done in INDIA but the disney studio was just use to pass the animation shorts.............and ya all the hollywood animatino studios like dreamworks, blue sky, pixar, have INDIAN artists........but today in INDIA all the major studios like prana, crest, Prime focus, tata elexi are clearing the staff........so it was so bad time for CG artists in INDIA...........
