Thread: Review: Ghajini (Hindi)

What a crowd? Don’t remember when I saw such a crowd for a Hindi movie (in Chennai). If the crowd for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was big, then the crowd for Ghajini was huge. SRK & Aamir’s movie have always drawn crowd in Chennai. It’s good to see crowd back in the theatre.

We have had many movies whose name is same as the name of the hero in that movie.Its not very often you see a movie named after the villain’s name. Ghajini is the name of villain (Pradeep Rawat) in the movie.

I wanted to see the movie for Aamir Khan & for its climax. I really liked the climax, it was better than the Tamil version. In Tamil the villains were twins. The last 30 minutes of the movie was different from the Tamil version. The rest was same as the Tamil version. On a whole the movie was ok. The reason why I am saying this is because I have already watched the Tamil version (several times) & normally you tend to compare the movies. People who haven’t seen the Tamil version will surely love the Hindi version.

The Tamil version was better than the Hindi version. Reason, Surya’s acting (in Tamil version) was superb. I am not saying Aamir was bad. He was good, but not that good like Surya. The performance of Surya was great. It was a once in a lifetime performance. Even if Surya again acts in the remake of Ghajini, he won’t match his previous performance. Such performance can only be done once. At the end of the day, both (Aamir & Surya) are fine actors. Both are very hardworking actors. Aamir is a great actor. Surya has a long way to go to achieve what Aamir has achieved. Another reason is that the background score of the Tamil version was awesome. In the Hindi version, it was ok. In the Tamil version, the on scene chemistry between Surya & Asin was too good. In the Hindi version, I felt Aamir was a bit old when compared to Asin. The only positive thing in the Hindi version was the climax (the last 30 minutes).

Once again I am saying people who haven’t seen the Tamil version will surely love the Hindi version. People who have watched both the Hindi and Tamil version will surely like the Tamil version & will also agree to my comments to a certain extent.

The other movie which I saw this weekend was Slumdog Millionaire. It was a awesome movie. Check out the review here (Review: Slumdog Millionaire).

I like the songs both in hindi as well as the tamil version. Somehow I liked the tamil version more than the hindi version. I'm yet to watch the movie

I watched the movie just now... While this movie can be a hit cuz of the hype & starpower attached to it... I seriously didn't like it much... I know its tough on Aamir to repeat the magic of Lagaan, RDB & TZP... But still this movie could have been made better...

Too much of Rajnikant style action spoilt the mood... I mean those stunts look good only on Rajni... But to see Aamir perform those stunts is just not digestable...

And guys don't wait for any suspence cuz there isn't any... It was all very obvious from the beginning... There are no twists & turns! Its a desi romance-tragedy-revenge movie which Sunil Shetty has already played in couple of flops early in his career... lol

Asin was the only good thing in the movie... She acted really well... Aamir was good when he was sharing the screen space with her... Else his character sucked!

But nice to see Aamir Khan back in commercial cinema... Being a die hard fan of Aamir, I would say that he has again done something different after a long time...

Saw this movie over the weekend. A so-so movie. A let down from what is expected out of Aamir Khan. He has acted well but apart from the unique idea of "short term memory loss", it is a typical Boolywood revenge story. Sorry, if these words appear repeated.

I feel sorry for the people who paid Rs. 300/- pp to watch this movie (I paid Rs. 80 pp for a non-regular show timing).

i watched it too, and i really didnt like it at all, the chemistry could have been a lot better, and the fights were typical south indi type,

and the worst part was the name, ghajini is the villans name who is a total idiot looking guy

I have seen the movie......it's really good. Watch out for AAmir's acting and ofcourse for Asin too

But it seems like a so so movie reading the reviews people have given, but i suppose everyone has their own tastes, so will pass my comments once ive seen the movie!

I have expected so much from Aamir Khan(specially after Taare Zameen par) i think this movie is total masala movie(typical Bollywood) nothing special and also run time of this movie 301 min(unnecessarily elaborate).:thumbdown:

may be you will like it, but i didnt like it , aaamir extra perfect quality was not there in this movie

I think that the only specialty in that movie.

yep finally....m sooo happy tht i saw a movie aftr like 2-3 weeks....!!!!! was wantin to watch since a long time.....!!!!

i sumhow felt the girl asin's eyes n genelia's eyes r pretty much similar.....also some of asin's looks - jaw line is similar to genelia...?

I would have sucided :hang: had they casted Genelia in Ghajini...
