Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Delhi 6 is a black comedy that exposes people's hypocrisy. In today's world, we are often quick to judge people, but if we look at ourselves very closely, we often find that we're not being fair to others.


Delhi 6 is based on Mehr growing up years in Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi.

Amitabh Bachchan has a small role in the movie, where he will play the grandfather of Roshan, played by Abhishek Bachchan.Roshan, a young American boy of Indian origin. Gulshan Grover is roped in to play Abhishek Bachchan father in the movie. Waheeda Rahman playing grandmother of the same nature. He (Roshan) comes to India for the first time, to drop off his ailing grandmother. She wants to die in her own country, and so prepares for the inevitable.

Having led a western lifestyle, an America-born Roshan is unaware of the sights and sounds, the food and culture, the religion and beliefs that make up Indian society.

After arriving in India, he engages with his grandmother's neighbourhood. He soon mixes and becomes part of the community. But little does Roshan know that this jovial and gregarious group of people have another side to them - they have decided to take advantage of Roshan's naive nature.

The story is shown against the backdrop of the ancient city of Delhi (which is totally different from New Delhi). The city is almost a character in itself, representing the chaos of India, the people, their religions and their beliefs.

The pin code of this old city is 110006. With pride and love they call it Delhi 6.

The film puts across a message that we are quick to judge others, without seeing our own weaknesses.

Delhi 6 is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and could very well prove one of the biggest movies of 2009. Main Lead: Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Om Puri, Amitabh Bachchan, Gulshan Grover.

Movie is schedule to release on 20th Feb, 2009!!!!

I am looking forward to this movie. Not for Abhishek Bachchan. Not for Sonal Kapoor. But for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra & AR Rahman.

Same thing Ramesh after Rang de Basanti I also have lot of expectation from Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and I hope some social massage will be present in this movie also.

I saw the trailers and must admit that they looked impressive.Old Delhi locals like Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk etc picturised very beautifuly.

Also saw the song in trailer and it was differnt and good.Let's see what Rehman and Rakesh Om Praksh Mehra combination has in store for us.Delhi 6 is one of the watch out mvie in 2009.

@ jee.....common....abhishek bachchan is not tht bad n so is sonam kapoor! yea obviously.....it shud b a movie worth watching as its been directed by Rakeysh Mehra....n score shud also b nice.....vent heard the songs as yet....!!!

I'm defiantly looking forward to this film for many reasons, which are because its a Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film, it has Abhishek Bachchan, Sonal Kapoor (whos film i haven't seen before), and mainly because of the story plot which seems very interesting and different!

The song is sung by Mohit Chauhan (Silk Route Band....Remember the Dooba Dooba song)

Don't think about her career because all of you know who is acting in that movie as hero and his first 12-14 movie(almost continuous 5 years) was flop but still he can survive in bollywood and we all know the reason behind it so don't need to worry after all she has some one who can save her career.
