Thread: Commercial & Art movie in Bollywood

In Bollywood always commercial movie is very much get success rather than intellectual movie but last year we have seen few good parallel movie like Aamir,Mumbai Meri Jaan,A Wednesday,The Last Lear which is not the so called to the main stream bollywood movie and each movie has some social massage that mean i don't want to say that commercial movie never have any social massage.We have seen few good Rajkumar Santoshi commercial movie where a clear social message is present even sometimes it better than few art movie and also another thing some art film is also commercially hit but still the basic difference is between art and commercial movie that in case of art film it always create to set a clear agenda or subject by the director where us in commercial movie director always think how can he hit the movie in any way some times movie director himself can't see entire movie also but still he/she hopes that people will see the movie and sometimes they guess right some times wrong.Most of the Indian spectator like commercial movie but few spectator is still like art movie but both type of spectator has few reason behind that
Reason for watching commercial movie

A.>Good pop-song, dance ,fight ,body building,dramatic throw of dialogue,action,item songs,not boring,allegorical story, fabulous climax and nice end which we want in our mind.

B.>Why we pay for those movie which will see us normal social life or lots of social problem which we habituated all this things we want to watch the movie for recreation and fun.
Reason for watching art movie

A.>Movie is a itself a art so it has some duty to change the society to motivate them in good way or give some knowledge to the people in easy way and also it will help to upgrade our thinking process also.

B.>In this days most of the bollywood movie is not much connected with indian society they are making the movie totally in Hollywood pattern where us most of the Indian has not much connected with that style and culture.In one sentence bollywood is representing urban rich society and NIR class of the India when India's biggest problem poverty an unemployment is suddenly disappear how can we say movie is the mirror of society.So why we will see the main stream bollywood movie.
So what all of you thinking comment on this.

I prefer Hindi art films. If I need action I would rather see a Hollywood flick where the action is realistic and special effects light years ahead.

Movies (and TV) are make-believe world (90%). They do not represent the country. Even with Hollywood.

Consider the serial Friends. Do you think that it resembles metro life in USA?

That's very true most of the hindi serial(not all) is the exhibition of good dress ,jewelry and huge palace but movies are more important than serials for cultural point of view i think in this days Bolly movies are trying to copy the Hollywood style(few movie). I saw even in 80's and 90's few typical commercial movie are very much related with Indian society(Arjun,Kala Bazar,Damini) suddenly which is disappear in this days.I don't want to say that every movie should be same type or must need some social value but we can expect at least couple of main stream movie which is related with our society.

well comehow i cud relate my life in the uk pretty much wid wht frens is.....!!!!!

Movies with social message are a powerful source to convey message subliminally.
