Default Delhi-6 Soundtrack Vs Rang De Basanti Soundtrack

My Review: Delhi-6 Soundtrack Vs Rang De Basanti Soundtrack

Last week I downloaded Delhi-6 songs.I was eagerly waiting for Delhi-6 soundtracks.I was having huge expectations from the duo of Rahman & Rakyesh Mehra.& they didn't disappoint. The songs of Delhi-6 are simply awesome.

    It totally has 10 soundtracks:
    • Bhor Bhaye
    • Masakalli
    • Noor
    • Aarti (Tumre Bhavan Mein)
    • Genda Phool
    • Dil Gira Dafatan
    • Hey Kaala Bandar
    • Rehna Tu
    • Delhi 6
    • Arziyan
Each soundtrack is of different genre.I liked all the songs. You could hear them again & again.

Here's a small comparison of soundtracks of Delhi 6 with Rang De Basanti (RDB) & other AR Rahman movies.

I have used the soundtracks of RDB as a benchmark for comparison because I believe it one the best album ever made my AR Rahman in Hindi. The songs of RDB are simply awesome.I would give RDB 10 out of 10 for its sountracks.

These are my ratings for the following films when compared to Rang De Basanti: In brackets are my fav songs.

Jodhaa Akbar: 7 (Jashn-E-Bahaara, Khwaja Mere Khwaja)
Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na: 6 (Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi)
Yuvvraaj: 7 (Tu Meri Dost Hai,Tu Muskura,Manmohini Morey)
    Ghajini: 6 (Kaise Mujhe, Behka)
    Slumdog Millionaire: 9 (All soundtracks)
    Delhi 6: 9.5 (all soundtracks)

I have heard many songs of Delhi-6,they are nice and hummable.AR Rahman is getting better each day.The good thing about delhi-6 is that songs sound very fresh and have very desi feel to it.Hope movie is good too.

I just finished listening to Delhi-6 soundtrack & I think the songs were ok...not so great.
I mean they're fresh & have different styles, but overall not as good as Rahman's other works this year.
    Just my opinion.

i found taal was also comparable in such place(u hav not mentioned for 2008 only).....but if it comes to D-6 nd RDB offcourse RDB is best.......nd if it comes to their track Vs. track than i vote for Masakalli of D-6, only Roobaroo of RDB can beat that song(it was my opinion only)......

heard only one song from jaane tu ya jaane na that aditi one nd i'll give 10/10 for this song.......for slumdogs jai ho i hav 9 points......i never heard ny songs from the other 3 movies......

RDB on the top ... the best song from RDB for me is khalbali ... the lyrics of the entire song is just gr8 ... specially the lines:

hone hone de nasha khone khone ko hai kya
ek saans mein pee ja zara zindagi chadha
hai yeh toh ek jashan tu thirakne de kadam
abhi saanson mein hai dam abhi chalne de sitam

I have only heard one song from Delhi 6 (masakali), and as compared to Rang De Basanti i think so far that has the best songs, and same goes with Taal, both RDB and Taal have different tone of songs so both are best and i think i would say maybe better than Delhi 6 (but then again i have to listen to all the songs)

Bhor Bhaye is pure classical song i like that song most but i think only the problem is Rahman can select any typical classical singer because Shreya's performance is ordinary in that particular song (specially in high note).
Rang de Basanti music is western pattern and also every songs are very good. Now in Delhi-6 is Rahman use every type of song 1.Maula is sufi song 2.Genda Phool is traditional folk song 3.Masakali is a unique fast track 4.Tumre Bhavan Mein is adevotional and couple of western pattern so lots of variety is present in Delhi-6 i like few of them but still Bhor Bhaye is best for me.
