Thread: Amitabh Bacchan OR Shahruk Khan? Your Fave

There's a huge rivalry going on between Big B and SRK, though it is one sided as only SRK is trying to better Amitabh bhacchan. There was competition who's the best actor of bollywood b/w the two at the Show "Coffee with Karan" hosted by karan Johar. Judges were Farhan Akhtar, Farah Khan and Sanjay leela Bhansali. For me AB was a clear undisputed winner but as both being Big names of bollywood, Judgement was diplomatic and both were adjudged as winners.

Both of the actors deserve to be the best, but when u have to choose 1, I'd go for Mr. Amitabh Bacchan without a doubt.

I used to really like Amitabh and family but now i think they are just plain greedy!! due to some bad company (Read: Chhote Bhaiya Amar singhji). They have been involved in all sort of land deals etc.. One of my uncles was doctor to his dad, late Harivanshrai Bacchan and knows him from when he was not even a filmstar. I am not too much a shahrukh khan fan too. So my option is "none of the above".

I was talking bout who's better on screen, You have to choose on their on screen performances,both might not be among ur favorites but you can choose b/w them.

both r good in their own ways......!!!!!

i love em both for their acting in some of really nice movies.....

Can i somehow modify this thread to make a poll? than it would be easier to choose than explaining who's better.

i agree both of them are good actors, but who is your pick among the two, they cant be equal, every one have their own perception, who would you guys prefer as a better actor over the other.

Pick one out the two and lets see who, people at IBF think is better than the other.

for starters i think Amitabh is a better actor than Shahrukh.

Both Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan are good in their own ways, they both have good acting skills, perform well in the roles and give good films too!

i would say Aamir Khan...........but among the 2 i like SRK more....

Shahrukh...is a one dimensional actor. He know how to play roles in only one way. Very rarely he doe something different form his previous movies. He is just a hype created by media.

if u want to know Amitabh Bachchan the actor just watch the following movies,
1. Saudagar (with Nutan)
2. Aalap (with Rekha)
3. Sat Hindusthani
4. Main Aazaad Hun

I don't think you whould even think of comparing AB the actor with SRK the actor.

Amitabh has become more charming and majestic with age. I liked him more in the films where he acts as the father of a hero (like KKKG)than those in which he himself was the hero. Very few actors can be so impressive in their 60's. I am sure SRK wont fit into a father's role ( in future) as neatly as AB. SRK can do only stereo typed roles. My vote is for AB

True. But when I watched AB during the 70's/80's, I could not have pictured him playing a father figure also. And if you note, AB also did stereo typed roles during his hero days. So cannot predict anything.

What AB consciously did was to try to change his image slowly. He even acted in a couple of low budget off-beat films.

It was KBC which gave him a new life. He was simply majestic in that show.

As far as SRK is concerned, I am not his fan but I have nothing against him also. I do watch his movies if they are good. Basically I watch a movie for what it offers me as a value package.

I would go for AB for acting and SRK for good looks,
in fact any random actor or extra is more hansome than AB ;-)

No doubt Amitabh. From side hero in Anand, Chupke-chupke; to angry young man in janzeer, trishul; to comedian in Amar-Akbar-Anthony, Namak Halaal; to action hero in Sholay, Agnipath; to romance in silsila, kabhi kabhi; to character actor in saudagar, black; to tragedy king in sharabi (amitabh's version of devdas), deewar; to many more like hum, cheeni kum, mr. natwar lal, satte pe satta, bagwan etc.

I'm not sure any of the actors can do all varity if roles egually good...

I disagree. There was no question about Amitabh's being handsome while he was in his heydays. Tall guys were in extreme demand from prospective brides back then which refuses to fade.

My vote goes for AB. AB is a legend in his field. He has done so many classic movies which you can watch again & again. I really loved his "Anthony" character in Amar Akbar Anthony. I would have watched that movie more than 30 times & would love to watch it again & again. Other character which I really loved were Jadugar Goga in the movie Jadugar, then Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in Agneepath & many more.

As itsmemad said AB has played all characters from angry young man to lover boy. He is one versatile actor. There's one more versatile actor other than AB who I love a lot, thats Kamal Hassan.

On other side SRK may be the badshaah of box office but only few of his movies have really impressed me. I really loved his Bazigar, Swades & Kal Ho Na Ho. There are only handful of movies which you could remember. & he a kind of one-dimensional actor, most of his roles are of NRI type.

As AB grew, he has started playing the roles of father which he has played superbly. Don't know about SRK how good he would fit into the shoes of father character.

But there's one actor who would always play the hero role how much ever old he is, he is our Super Star Rajnikanth unk:

I really like Rajnikanth ahead of all actors. & more than 90% of people in Tamil Nadu would say the same.

i dont like Amitabh Bacchan's 70s films...over acting.. silsila is the only i liked...

i dont like shahrukh's face, but his acting is better than others...

so my vote is for shahrukh..

except these guys, i like brad pitt
