Thread: Movie Review: Kaminey

Kaminey is a forthcoming hindi movie staring Shahid Kapoor (dual role), Priyanka Chopra, Amol Gupte and others. The movie is directed by Vishal Bharadwaj & produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Vishal Bharadwaj has directed movies like Omkara, Maqbool & Makadee.

Shahid plays double role for the first time. Charlie & Guddu, both are twins. Guddu is a sweet, innocent looking guy who stammers & on the other side Charlie is a rough & tough guy who lisps (he spells Sa as Fa, like he says Shakal as Fakal). Prinyanka Chopra plays the lady love of Guddu. Amol Gupte plays a negative role. The story is about these 2 brothers. How their life takes a turn when their lives cross each other.

The song Dhan Te Nan is already topping the charts.

The movie is releasing this Friday (08/14/2009) worldwide.

lol, that was really funny...I have booked the weekend tickets (Sat Evening show). I willst my review on sunday. I am sure that I will like the movie.

I guess kaminey's release date is postponed..

The movie is releasing this Friday worldwide except for Mumbai. Due to flu scare, the theaters in mumbai are all shut for 3 days.

I like Vishal Bharadawj few movie but not all of them I thing sure he gives little different kind of story in his all movie so I am also waiting to see the full story line of this movie.

The reviews of the movie are Flowly coming out. If you go by the reviews then the movie is Fimply AweFome.

I am really looking forward to Fee this movie.

Btw: I was trying to Fpeak Charlie's (Lisps) language..

I also heard that Vishal Bharadwaj saying that Kaminey's direction is very much inspired by Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie's direction.. Vishal is capable of doing that, and if it is correct i'm dying to see this movie... Kick AFF MOVIE

well yes vishal bharadwaj has directed nice movie be4 .....i m surely expecting a lot from this one.......music well shud i say .....? its gng really good.....

well as per me ......pls do not even try gng to a movie hall to watch this one .....its one hell of a movie......Movie Sucks ......didnt xpect this out of the movie .........

According to TOI - More importantly, Kaminey is the first film which also credits its viewers with some intelligence. It demands your unbridled attention from the word GO and allows you to sit back only at your own peril. For if you aren't attentive and intelligent to figure some things out yourself, specially in the first half hour, you might be missing the twists in this sassy tale of twin brothers who end up hating and loving each other, all in a frenetic 24-hour time span. Of course, director Vishal Bhardwaj does tell it all gradually, but he presumes you'll solve the jigsaw without much of spoon feeding. And therein lies the power of Kaminey. It teases you with its smartness and constantly challenges you to keep pace with the breathless tenor of the drama that unfolds through fast cuts, dizzy hand-held camera angles and a dark, brooding ambience. Watching Kaminey is like sitting on the edge of a volcano which can explode any time. And explode it does!
