Thread: Credit controversy

Yup u guessed it right this post has a lot to do with the blockbuster movie 3 idiots
While the controversy was on chetan argued that it had 70% of his book five point someone and VVC argued it had some 5% adapted from book !
Lets get a reality check heres counting the similarities between the book and the movie
- Both the movie and book is set in an educational institute
- Both movie and book has a story which revolves around 3 friends
- The strict and pakao professor (cherian in book virus in movie) is common
- The suicide of raju (or alok) is almost same
- Professor’s son’s suicide note
- The character of padaku silencer(venky)
- Question paper theft

And here are some Differences between the movie and book are
-Wedding of virus daughters
-Delivery of child scene
-Mystery during the interval
-The bet
-The message of movie
-The happy end to pia and ranchor’s relationship

Wow I managed to get a lot into both the lists But I guess I am more supporting towards chetan bhagat as the movie was adapted (percentage doesn’t matter) and he deserved prominent credit, which the 3 idiots team was not graceful enough to give !

chetan clearly sold the rights to his book, for real cheap and that's his fault. So there is nothing to it...

also, the first class scene, where they ask the def. of machine is also a rip i think....

PS: Their college, ie IIM bangalore is right next to my house ! I had gone there to see the shooting one day (yes i am jobless...)

lol i never knew the shooting was in bangalore !! otherwise i would have gone too lol
But well chetan sold credit agree but when you give prominent credit for story to sumone other than chetan it is bad
