This year may well be the year of sequels as directors plan to make part 2 or 3 of hit movies. The long list of sequels being made include Golmaal 3, Dhoom 3, Partner 2, Kkrish 2, Don2, Race2, Wanted 2, Judwaa2, Mr India 2, Phoonk 2, Agyaat 2, Hera Pheri 4 ……
Is this because there is lack of ideas ?? Or is it because producers want to play it safe? But well do we care as long as we get entertained .
Rohit shetty is working on Golmaal 3, where cats will remain same but Arshad warsi will be missing.
Heri Pheri 4 (3rd film but is titled hera pheri 4) will be directed by Bazmee
Farhan is planning Don 2 with Priyanka and SRK, Kkrish will now have a sequel which will be 3rd in the series after Koi Mil gaya and Krish and this will have Hrithik in the lead role again.
Sequel of Dostana is underway too, it is rumoured that Katrina will play lead role as John n Junior bachchan enter Punjab ! Life in a metro and kya kool hai hum may also have sequels.
A sequel can be a continuation to the prequel or just have the same cast.
Bollywood has already churned out some sequels in the past which include Dhoom which was a major blockbuster, Krrish a sequel to Koi mil gaya was huge hit, Award winning lage raho munna bhai a sequel to Munnabhai MBBS, and many more like Phir hera pheri, sarkar raj …….
So finally Hollywood trend of sequels catch up in India, but how many will actually be hit is what time will say
