Thread: Why bollywood is always copying hollywood?

Most bollywood movies are copies or remakes of Hollywood or Malayalam/Tamil/ Telugu movies. Why is it so? They do not have any writers who can write any original stories. Or may be copying is easier to do.

I think that bollywood industry feels that copying from hollywood movies is a bit easier as making something new is always difficult and i think that they really like to follow this rule.

like if you see all those family filims which have original story are successful..

I would not call it a "copy" ! It would be better if we just used the words "following the footsteps of Hollywood". As IBF said , Hollywood is and will remain the best and biggest film production place so all the other runners , if they want to have or to be like Hollywood must act like them

I dont think that Bollywood is following Hollywood path. I would say that they are trying to copy each and every thing to become hollywood which in my sense is wrong.

Bollywood is copying because they do not have original story writers and this is the reason they are always copying from other as they think that Indian are still far behind and have not seen those hollywood moives from which they are copying.

well,i think they copy because most of the times they don't scratch their minds for the fresh stories..they have been using this ages..but only now we come to know about this..because we now are aware of Hollywood movies too by vast development of media..

It is not like they have all the movies copied. If you look at the old times movies you would see that they were original and more over some movies like Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham, Kal ho na ho etc are real and people really liked them.

Yes this is the point. They are not always copying but our Bollywood lacks original story writers and movie directors and some good movie makers such as curren Johan had made some superb and really good movies.

You can't take them as copy. They're just picking the concept/theme of the movie from some other movie and making their own script on it. If this is known as copy, then what will you say about Formulas in Mathematics?

You can't use the term but they are just remaking the old movies in to a new style in their own ideas so The movies like partner is a remake and most of all they are also remaking from telugu movies
