I don not remember the names but there are quiet some few companies which have licensed English movies[main stream] and are selling it for cheap (though not as cheap as Moser baer ! ) in India .

3.The shop keeper gives me the oirated cd of border

    4.It costs me 20*2 = 40 rupees

5.I ask the cost of the original

    6. It costs me 50 bucks

7.There is no warrenty on the pirated version

8.I get a warrenty on th original version

    9.Its a matter of 10 bucks

what is the difference in the prices, i mean why the different costs, is it because of the movie release date?

    Good info J4K, thanks!

What happened to the news that MB were going to go around on a bike to sell their DVD's and VCD's?

Older movies are cheap whereas newer movies are little costly. I have rarely seen a (DVD) movie priced more than Rs. 48/-.

LOL. About MB going on bikes to sell DVDs/VCDs, I am unaware of such news.

Some new movies are being charged at Rs. 99/-

Good news. Many other publishers such Eros, Shemaroo, Bombino, etc. have dropped DVD prices to Rs. 99.

    Nice review.
One question...does the Moser Baer logo appear anywhere on the screen when you watch the movie ?

The watermark reminds me of the old Shemaroo DVDs..very annoying.

Please visit page 1 of the thread where images from Munnabhai, MBBS are posted. The watermark can be seen but it is not very annoying.

They have put the watermark to prevent dupliation.

Well powerdoc, in your extreme frenzy to get as many posts as possible within a specific time, you have not bothered to read the entire thread. If you had, you would not have these questions. I have said where these DVDs can be found. I have also said that the package comes in a slimline package which is sealed by a hologram sticker.

A watermark however faint/transparent is a blot on the movie print. That is why, I don't like it. DVDs that I purchased outside India do not have any watermark or such annoying thingies.

Default Moserbaer Tamil movies-nice to have

    Nice review just4kix...

Even i was much concerned abt the video and audio quality...
Recently I purchased a Tamil movie from MB (Raman Thediya seethai). the price is 50 Rs.The first thing i checked was file size...it was 7.5 gb/dual layer..i was surprised..i felt glad to get a copyrighed movie for 50 bucks..(i guess the price of empty 8.5 gb disc would cost more than 50)..I have a 42" TV. so, a not too good video would show up pixels/tiny boxes in my tv.
this DVD played really well and i am very much satisfied with the quality. i couldnt see any pixels/streched image...

planning to buy more dvd's frm moserbaer..but i suggest to buy 1 movie/disc type..i am not too sure abt audio/video of movies 3 movie,2 movie/dvd disc...

    what do u think ???

    Well observed, vikayv_82.

Never buy any DVD that has more than one movie on it. Never compromised on quality.

J4K, do you buy the multi film packs too, which have two or three movies in one DVD/VCD?

What latest Moser Baer movies do you have now?

Have never purchased a disc that has multiple movies on it. The quality is way too poor and these are obviously pirated.

Have not purchased anything of late. Nothing interesting in the Hindi movies scene.

Not so for MB. MB is selling them as a pack of movies. For example, the Amir Khan collection consists of six films on six discs.
