I love watching horror films, but only the good ones, anyone seen Phoonk and is it worth watching or just another lousy film!!!!!!!

not seen.. plannin to download.. pl guys,,, post the links.. if anyone.. torrents more preferred,, than rs..

I've never heard of it. What's it about? Is it just another clichee teenagers horror movie?

For his upcoming flick Phoonk, Ram Gopal Varma has come out with a contest called DARE TO WATCH IT ALONE CONTEST. He has challenged audiences to watch his horror movie alone in the cinema theater and if they succeed sitting throughout the movie they would win Rs 5 lakhs.

Yesterday one of our daily soap oops!!! I mean new channel's heading was:

Phook ne kissi ki Phook nahi nikali

he he he ... phoonk nae kisi ki phoonk nahi nikaali... lolz...

WTF... what's wrong with our news channels these days... i remember those days where there was only one rocking newspaper in india and it was Punjaab Kesri... photo wala akhbaar...

i think these news channels shoud work on there language skills.. these days news heading sounds like a joke.. honestly...

i m sorry to say but indian news channels are making joke of our own country...

no need to be sorry buddy.. u r perfectly right.. news channel are just for fun and makin nonsense crap things big,, so tht every1 will come to know .. just crap.. bloody.. think... go back.. tht TALWAR case.. ok.. then u heard asharam bapu's case.. then.. blasts in ahmedabad and some areas... thts quiet acceptable to certain limit.. but these guys exaggerate to such an extent... i still remember tht talwar gals case.. it went on and on and on... they kept on chewing.. it up.. and bloody tht comedy champions come on news channel.. they just dont have shame on showin all tht in news channnel.. tht is not meant for.. even some award functions like film fare functions and all.. film releases.. all sorts of crap they show.. before news channel was somethin different .. somethin serious.. somethin which all use to watch with attention.. and now?? news channnel are for enterttainment.. lol.. forget it..

when anyone of you guys have seen it do let me know, so that i can then decide whether i should spend money on tickets, popcorn and coke and watch it in the cinema or just download it at home.

as far as i can see the review of this movie there is no joy in watching this movie... on the first place i was planing to download it from net but now m not planing to download it too...

I do not understand why, such a pathetic movie is getting Wide acceptance in India. I am not talking about the content but the movie as a piece of Cinema.

one of my friend saw this movie and she is telling everyone that sound effects are really good and one can enjoy sound effects of this movie.. but i dont understand how come someone can enjoy sond effects only without a good story.

I saw the movie last weekend and it was below my expactations.In the past RGV has given us good sacry movies like Raat, Kaun, Bhoot and Vasstushastra.However, Phoonk is far below in standard.

It has only one or two sacry scenes.Rest is nothing to write.

Well suppose that sets it straight that its not worth watching, maybe a good pastime though!

I saw the movie last week.
It was ok...the background music were good..
But it is not as frightening as they showed in the trailor..
The movie is similar to The Exorcist.

What do you say is it worth going to the cinema to watch it or not, as you say the sounds are good so i suppose the sounds would sound better in the hall as it is surround sound!

When compared to Phoonk...there are many other good movies now (Wednesday, Rock On, Mumbai Meri jaan, Tahaan....) which are worth watching on Big Screen.

I was dissapointed with Phoonk as I said earlier.I am expecting better product from Vikrma Bhatt in the form of '1920'.

I am planiing to watch 1920 this weekend.Will let the forum know about my reviews.

The answer is yes.Phoonk was not upto the mark so any decent attemapt would be better than Phoonk.

I saw 1920 yesterday.It is not outstanding though it has its moments.Vikram Bhatt has tried to replicate hollywood classic horrros.

Positives :
1.Great locals.Yorkshire Castle and its British sarroundings have been beautifully captured.
2.Good special effects.
3.Nice perfomance by Adah Sharma as Lisa.
4.Few good scary scenes.

Negatives :
1.Sometimes gets boring at places.
2.I think second half is better than first half
3.Average music score.Raaz had better compositines.
4.Mediocre perfoamnces apart from Adah Sharma

All in all, don't expect anything outstanding.Watchable one time.
