HOW CAN YOU FORGET "JAANE BHI DO YAARO" ?? Can you forget the famous mahabharat scene? Imp point is that it was a satire on the corrupt system and builder-politician nexus. So my fav is this movie.

That is because original print is not good.

See this way. This movie was produced by NFDC (National Film Development Corporation) and was an extremely low budget movie. I heard that entire budget of the movie was Rs. 20 lakhs or so (I may be wrong - this is hearsay).

All actors were fairly new, from NSD, Theater Academy, Satyadev Dubey's acting academy, etc. Except perhaps Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri, who had formed some following the the "parallel" cinema. It was also Kundan Shah's first film.

Naturally the film did not use the best cameras, raw stock, etc. I doubt whether you will get a good print anywhere.

I found minor glitches on Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi also.

    Andaz Apna Apna
    Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron
    Padosan
    Hera Pheri
    Golmaal(old)
    Chupke Chupke
The scene from Padosan where Kishore Kumar teaches Sunil Dutt to sing is my all time favorite. I laugh till i have tears in my eyes...Niche se Bhola Niche se.... Classic.

When I said there were artifacts in the CKNG, it was more like a second or two missing between scene breaks.

How would you know? I mean I am not challenging - merely asking.

I have seen this movie a zillion times (obviously because of Madhubala) and hence remember each and every scene. In my DVD, I found the following gaps:

    - There are small 1 sec gaps in two times during the song Baaju, Baabu Samjho Isahre
    - There is again a 1s gap when Madhubala is arguing with KK during the garage scene
    - A 1s gap at the start of the song Hum The Woh The
    - Some intermitent gaps during the scene when Anup Kumar rushes off Madhubala's house in the car not knowing Madhubala's friend is also in the car on the back seat
    - etc.

These are nothing serious. But a die hard fan will notice.
