Thread: Who is evergreen hero...

The evergreen hero tag has been used for Dev Anand for a long time.

In prsent generation, who can be given this tag to...My pick is Anil Kapoor..

Big B is still going strong but the title evergreen applies to someone (actor or actress) who can continue to play glamourous and romantic roles in spite of age.

Now someone, don't come forward and give example of Cheeni Kum. That film was brilliant but that romance was not what I am talking about.

In this sense, I hardly think anyone has been able to emulate Dev Anand who played romantic hero till Warrant (1975). From Des Pardes (1977) he started to play non-romantic but still a hero's role. Sadly he tried to chew more than he could swallow.

Anil Kapoor and Govinda can qualify to some extent but I doubt whether they can carry on much longer in those roles.

I agree with you compltely J4X.Dev Anand will always be the original evergreen hero.He gave us some very good romantic movies having some the most memorable songs.

You need to look up the dictionery for the word "evergreen" when contexted with a hero. An "evergreen" hero means an "ageless" hero.

I donot know whether Ramesh is pointing to Amitabh Bachchan, but Big B is certainly not an evergreen hero. He is probably the most popular hero.
