Smile Good Alternative for (Irritating) BSNL broadband connection in Chromepet (Chennai)

    Good day Friends ,

This is something which is itching / irritating me since July.... And i decided i will get rid of it this time.
Am from CHROMEPET, Chennai ( To localites : it is Hasthinapuram to be precise ).

I have been using BSNL 500C home combo plan for many years.
Though they (BSNL) have always been a pain i was sticking to it purely because of night free unlimited usage with a speed 1.71Mbps ( which drops now and then as per their wish & i have to talk to their Customer service (one of the worst Customer service i have ever heard) or talk to some useless assistant engineer lady who questions me back on my queries).

Now since July they have cut own the Free unlimited, it was a big blow to my plans....
And on the Top i had just paid my Annual Payment then on june.
So i was seriously thinking of a better broadband connection, but could not find one (Efficient) by myself.

So i decided to look for options here....

SO FRIENDS, KINDLY SUGGEST ME GOOD BROADBAND CONNECTION ( Wired preferably but do not mind wireless if it is worthy ) PROVIDER IN CHROMPET (HASTHINAPURAM) CHENNAI.

    MY MAIN REQUIREMENTs ARE :
    a)MINIMUM OF 3-5Mbps
b)HASSLE FREE CUSTOMER SERVICE, AS THIS CONNECTION IS FOR MY ELDERLY PARENTS AND I DO NOT WANT THEM WASTING TIME WITH USELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE
c)UN-INTERCEPTION OF SERVICES FOR LAME EXCUSES LIKE RAIN AND FREQUENT MAINTENANCE
d)ACCEPTABLE COST ( i understand, it would be tough to find one with bsnl rates but would be happy if its acceptable )

Kindly give your priceless feedback or suggest me better options on this matter.

    Thank you
    Regards
    Thiagu

Seems like there is not really much choice. Airtel broadband is available and it can be considered if you are willing to pay on the higher side. Otherwise I would recommend you choose a local cable connection which would provide good service as well as good speeds for a good cost.

KarthikK....Thank you.... I understand taht there is not much of choice....but am even unaware of the local cable connection providers to the fact that, i have not seen any provider's ad or outlets in this area relating to wired broadband connection....
And this has been holding me since july.
Hmm..... may be i should try YOU or Tikona ....
first i should have to look for their retail outlets here..
Anyway, thank you for ur suggestions...
Am still Looking for more options....

    Take care

It actually all depends on location, in two different locations the same connection can work very differently.

    jammyr...
    i) here, i am talking about service at my location
ii) And about the customer service..... no doubt.....u take my word..... BSNL has one the poorest customer support.
People who are said to be in charge of technical department. Does not know anything out of book. They just keep saying the same thing when u ask for troubleshooting.
oh...common....u living in India and u should know about BSNL customer service and their office outlets...
Yes...the provide the cheapest service.....but once u are up for support and assistance....am sorry , i can not assure you anything. I have had real bad experience about BSNL. And u should have read plenty such reviews here in this forum about that.

Anyway, i would again like to insist. U might be in a area where, u have better people in local BSNL office who can serve u better. But as a whole....if u ask me , if u want a hassle free connection..... BSNL is always a second option. Look for a better one to the number one spot.
