Default Setting up Airtel Static IP

    Dear all,

I am in desperate need of a how to. Below is my detailed query.

    1. I am working in a organization in delhi in which we are building our IT Infrastructure(Servers)
    2. As of now we are using Airtel BB. The ADSL modem model name is 220BX. We have around 25 computers. The Airtel BB ADSL modem is connected to a hub/switch. From the hub/switch our computers are connected.
    3. The computers are given a static IP with the series 192.168.0.x and also a DNS server IP.
    4. Our employees will be travelling a lot with their laptops.
    5. Since we have setup dhcp they cannot access the office network from outside.
    6. For this reason we got a plan from Airtel with which they have provided a static ip. 122 series.

My actual setup is listed above. The following should be setup now.

    1. When the Airtel guy came to our office, he told that the Static IP 122 should be configured in the Server.
    2. Then we need to do Bridging or Natting(Iam not sure) in the router page and give IP in the range of 192.168.0.XX to the client computers.
    3. Now I need to know how to set it up.

The main reason for the above setup is as follows,

    1. The roaming employees needs to access the Server from outside.
    2. We are running a webbased attendance software which should be accessed by our branch office in Chennai. This software will be installed in the Server once the Static IP is configured in it.

Hope I am clear on what I want.

    Pls help me out.

    T i A

This topic is probably "out of breadth" for most. At least I am not an expert at this.

Not that I have any solution to your query here...
But, if I were you I would definitely get some professional help (service)
for this. Sooner or later I would be needing a network administrator anyways

Good luck & later on if you could please share the info on how you
managed to solve the problem, this board would be obliged to gain
    more knowledge.

I remember a signature quote from a linux guru.

Usually this forum and others are mainly to help individuals,
to solve their difficulties. experienced users ( may not be all
    professionals ) guide, newcomers/novices,
,And others gain knowledge/info in the forum. .
Since you are a commercial establishment, unlikely
any one faced the same situation, you spelled out.
However ( I am not a PRO) , I think your problem is,
(a)you have not setup a VPN . Then your employees
may access your server/office via internet.
    (b) ask Airtel to replace the modem with 110BX1,
having a DDNS option. This is used to post a web site
    from our computer.
Just tried ! Also your thread title was misleading !
Whether above comments were useful or not ,
feedback +ve as well as -ve is most welcome.
Depending on your reply other/s may chip in.
