Default Setting up D link GLB-502T with Linksys WRT54G2 on Airtel Broadband

    Hi all,
After going through several of the posts in this forum and experimenting with my D-Link GLB-502T and my new Linksys WRT54G2 am still not able to access my internet.
Please note - I am able to access the internet perfectly fine with just the D-link router.
I am now trying to set up a wi-fi network at home with the Linksys wireless router. I am using the Airtel broadband connection in always on mode on my D-Link router. I went through the steps given in the post - "Setup of UT-300R2 with Linksys WRT54G" but when I check the status of the connection in the Linksys router its not able to pick my ip address.
I have heard that setting up a wifi for Airtel Broadband can be quite a pain!
    Please help!

    Wrong information.
my setup same for both : Airtel ISP/BSNL ISP ( Change only RJ11)
Beetel 110BX1==>Vonage==NetgearWGR614v6==WIFI laptop and another laptop to LAN 1

    1.A quick try for trial)
Connect RJ45 from GLB502T to one of the LAN port
    instead of WAN/Internet port.WRT54G2 feedback.
2.IN TCP/IP select Obtain IP address automatically.
    3. Enable DHCP in GLB502T & WRT54G2.

    4. Post ipconfig/all info here.
START RUN type cmd type ipconfig/all

    Ignore if not needed:

The LAN IP address of the two routers must be different. Set the IP addresses as follows:

    D-Link GLB-502T: 192.168.1.1 (default)
    Linksys WRT54G2: 192.168.2.1

And as essbebe said, set TCP/IP properies to automatic and enable DHCP on both routers.

Also both routers cannot be set in PPPoE mode.

    1. Both routers can be in bridge mode and then create a dialer on PC.
    OR
    2. Configure D-Link GLB-502T in bridge mode and Linksys WRT54G2 in PPPoE mode
    OR
    3. Configure D-Link GLB-502T in PPPoE mode and Linksys WRT54G2 in bridge mode (the best option).

Default Figured it out with your help!

Thanks to the info from the both of you all, I have my D link and Linksys up and running.
These are the steps I followed:

    1. Left the settings on my D-Link as it is (with the DHCP on).

    2. Hooked up my Linksys to my computer in this order. Internet -- D-Link ADSL Modem - Linksys Wireless router -- Computer.

    4. Changed the TCP/IP properties to Obtain IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server automatically.

    3. Logged into my Linksys and Selected Static IP option in the drop down.

    4. Entered Internet IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS 1, DNS 2 (These are the default values given by Airtel).

    5. Changed Local IP Address (further down on the Linksys setup page) to 192.168.2.1

    5. Saved the settings.

    6. Shut down the computer and the routers and then restarted.

Internet was connected and running smooth.

Thank you just4kix and essbebe for your help. Hope the step by step explanation helps others.

I am glad that things have worked out.

At step 3, you could have selected 'Automatic DHCP' option also. But now that everything is working, keep it that way. The golden rule - never fix things that ain't broken.
