Rep Power: 0  |  USB Modem for Foreign Students Hi All We are students visiting India from the United States and Canada. We tried to purchase a USB modem from Reliance but were directed to quite a bit of paper work and bueracracy becuase we weren't Indians. Is there a service which wouldn't require all of this. Thank you so much |

| Senior Member & Mod | hmmmm. its because reliance is basically a cdma player.... sorry to ask you, but didnt you go for Idea, airtel, voda etc...even TATA Indicom( another cdma giant) has usb modems and dont need much of the papers... i will request you to go with idea's... ------------------------------------------- if you are a foreigner, you may be involved with the current security acts...so be ready, and its just part of our National security, so nothing to worry if you are genuine... dont be afraid.. Rep Power: 11   | paper work and ID Proof is something which everyone need to submit, no one can get a internet or phone connection without verification and submitting formal documents. Its 100% normal and you really need not to worry about this and as per i know in US as well you need to provide your documents and SS Number to get any new connection.
