Default Wireless Help? - IP Address issues

    Hi

We tried communicating to another server via FTP with no success "Failed Connection".

I then had them download and run the Winsock XP Fix with no success.
"Knowledge is useless unless it can be applied to help someone"

    Thanking You.

    @venkateshg
Please clarify whether you want to communicate/access
through Internet another Computer or server.
    Your query all mixed up.
When you download something you are connected to a server.
When you download Microsoft updates you are connected to their server.

If you want to talk to someone else Yahoo messenger/Skype Msn Messenger etc allow to chat send pictures files/ watch video etc.

1.In case you want to access your friend's computer's Directory/Hard disk
to repair(?!) try applications like LogmeIn.
    Do a google search.

    2.Mention your modem/router model/make.

3.Do you want to run your own web server so that
    others can access it ?

    4. Why Wireless help ?

If you want to FTP to a server here's some questions you need to ask.

Is the server running an FTP daemon/server? (Not all servers are FTP servers)

Do you have a connection from the client to the server? Pinging the ip.address.of.the.server should tell you that. If you don't get ping replies but you SHOULD BE connected it could be a firewall/NAT/routing problem - maybe on the client PC, at the server or even along the connection - router/gateway/other devices.

If you do get ping responses from the server, then at the command prompt try "telnet server.ip.or.hostname 21" and if that does not give you an error, or prompts you to authenticate - then you should be able to FTP.

Another thought - if you do get ping replies and you are certain that the server is running an FTP service/daemon and there's no firewall problem - is the FTP server configured to listen on a port other than the default 21?

Being wireless shouldn't affect FTPing to your server unless you have a problem with the actual wireless connection.

And if it's help you need, you could be more specific and detailed. Another question you should ask yourself - Am I detailed enough with my post to get someone to be able to help me?
