hy all,
i recently bought a dell xps 13 laptop just 5 days ago and im experiencing problems with the wireless since the the day the thing got here.
i know many ppl might have experienced this pain in the arse, that same 'local connectivity' issue. well, i did not find any good way out so i thought i would post my own thread here.
ok so heres what all i have done:
-disabled IPv6
-changed settings in IPv4 so that wireless acts as a static ip. did not help as my BSNL connection is a ppoe. i couldnt change it to static, perhaps settings in BSNL server do not allow me to do so.
-turned off firewall.
-turned off network discovery, many got their prob solved by this, not mine.
-removed mcafee AV by the mcafee AV removal tool, many got wireless working by this, didnt help me.
-edited reg keys and turned off dhcp BROADCAST.
-assigned only DNS in wireless properties and set ip to auto.
-entered the netsh command in cmd.
-uninstalled, restarted and installed wireless adapter
-tried again and again to figure out the problem lies somewhere in IPv4.

Ok, i think these are all the things i did so far, if any more steps remain, plssss do tell me i gotta get this thing working
just 1 more thing remaining, i cant set my connection to static or dynamic from the router settings coz its not allowed for me and net stops working.

i had an older sony vaio lappy which i still have(i wrote dis thread from that) and wireless connectivity has had no problems in xp, i know its a big bug in vista and monopolist Bill Gates has done nothing.
my router is UTSTARCOM WA3002G1, im quite sure it supports vista...

so pls, any suggestions would be appreciated!!!
