Default Need Help For Setting Up Home Network

Hii..I had a desktop PC..I bought a notebook few days before..I would like to connect both of them..I hav UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 ADSL2+ modem.. I have Windows Vista Premium on my Laptop and XP on my desktop...I hav dataones 500 combo plan...

I just want to set up a home network with these two PCs... I m really a newbie in networking...

Is it possible with the modem? I want to use multiplayer games over lan...Anyone pls guide me...I m a newbie and would b better if anyone can tell me wat to do step by step.....

Confirm your desktop is connected to LANport and connects to Internet.
Confirm your laptop can access Internet in Wifi mode.
Both at same time.
