Did you assign IP Address manually as explained in post #1?

What error message are you getting while accessing router?

    Just use opendns 208.67.220.220
and 208.67.222.222. ( all can use them)
Isps specify their own DNS servers.

I think there is a thread in forum
"Broadband How to ......" explaining DNS servers.

    Para TWO:
From Search (box above) DNS SERVERS.
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post252960 (Fast DNS Servers)
The most basic task of DNS is to translate hostnames such as theos.in to IP address such as 74.86.49.131. In very simple terms, it can be compared to a phone book. DNS also has other important use such as email routing.
PARA three: Some BSNL DNS servers.

    218.248.240.181
    218.248.240.180
    218.248.240.208

    218.248.255.105
    218.248.255.155
    218.248.240.135 DELHI
    61.1.96.69
    61.1.96.71.
    may be some more.

OpenDNS can be used with any ISP, its same for everyone.

    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220

ISP DNS differs which is ISP Specific.

192.168.1.1 is usually the router. You can try pinging your router or type in it's IP address into your browser. If you can't access it then maybe your router has another IP (strange)

    @cooltej
Try this.If you are connected to Internet.
    Current IP Check
    Note the IP address.
    Type in your address bar.
A window may appear asking for userId/PW
    to access modem/router settings.

    1. Use this guide and configure in PPPoE

    New Page 1

    2. Enable DHCP in your modem.

    3. In the TCP/IP properties of your connection (both machines), set " Obtain IP address automatically "..

    Feedback.

    1. Try the external IP in the address bar and check.

    2. If nothing works, reset the modem and reconfigure it.

    3. This may help

    1. Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig/all, post the screen shot.

    2. Mention your modem - model and make

    3. How many PC do you use ? One or more ?

    Configure a static IP.

In the TCP/IP properties of your connection, give the following values

    IP : 192.168.1.25
    subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
    default gateway : 192.168.1.1

Always welcome. It is a problem of assigning IP hence a static IP will solve the issue.
