Default How to repair - Limited or No connectivity

Are you experiencing an error message " Limited or No connectivity "

Once you see this message, there are 2 possibilities

    1. You can connect to Internet

    2. You cannot connect to Internet

Both ways go for the following steps to solve the problem.

Start > Control Panel, look for " Network Connections " and Double click it.

You will be able to see Local Area Connection (It is possible that there is more than one icon, in that case choose the one with " Limited or no connectivity ")

    Right click & Take properties

Select Internet Protocol [TCP/ IP] & click " Properties "

Choose " Use the the following IP address " and " Use the following DNS server addresses " and insert the values as shown in the figure. Click OK.

Click OK in the Local Area Connection Properties

Now you will find the error message has vanished. If not please restart you system and modem to find the connection to be ok.

    Have a nice day.

The procedure is the same. As for values, i think subnet mask is different.

Start> run> ipconfig/all will give you the values (when the connection is ok).

If you still face the problem, please inform. We will be able to sort it out.

I followed the above steps, but no success. The net works properly in my desktop, but in my laptop no or limited connectivity is displayed. After i put the ip adress etc in my laptop the Lan was connected, but i can't connect to the net.In the LAN properties page zero packets has been received.I reinstalled the Network adapter driver alsoo.
Is there any possibility that the LAN cable connection socket in my laptop could be damaged. Please guide.

The above instruction is for a single machine not multiple machines sharing the same connection. If that is your case, you should configure a static IP. Each machine will have a different static IP. One machine can have 192.168.1.25 and other can 192.168.1.30 . Please refer to the threads that describe how to share the connection between two or more machines.

    Here is one

Limited or no connectivity denotes an or more than one improper setting in the system. If ignored, it can later cause some other error. It is wise that we rectify it if possible.

    Happy to hear that

You can give the rep later after you give a few reps for other users.

Strange, Normally you should be able to see. There is no need for screen shots, simply follow the instructions. I have explained all steps.
