Default Combined internet via 2 LAN cards, HOw ?

    Guyz,

I recently applied for MTNL Triband connection - DSL 849, which got activated. In addition, I already have my existing Pacenet account with 25 days remaining. I have two lan cards in my PC, one for each of the connections.

    My question :

Is it possible to combine the two internet connections to get higher bandwidth.

If that is not possible, then is it possible to instruct downloading softwares like bittorrent, Shareazaa, Azureus to use diff internet connections ?

    For Eg.:

Bitorrent will use MTNL LAN CARD
Shareazaa / Azureus will use only PACENET connection.
and so on. (as it is not possible for a software to use two connections at a time.)

My pacenet connection is 256 kbps and MTNL gives 1.6 Mbps and want to make use of both connections simultaneously between 12 to 8 AM.

Any help in this will be appreciated. I do not want to purchase additional hardware, so please give me software solutions only.

As far as I know, the answer to both your queries is "No".

    Default LAN Teaming

I tried combining pacenet and mtnl as even I have two lan cards on my gigabyte motherbaord and I can make two connections into a 2gps connection., But since pacenet is on ppoe configuration - the lan teaming does not work. But I will try if I can cmbine hathway with mtnl as they are both running without any diallers.

Bro do anything you will not get combined speed...! if your line is 2mbps & 2 mbps you will get 2mbps only will not get 4 mbps speed...!

    Ex: It works like this,
with any network activity you have to first send some information (ex : asking internet to give 1 photo ) then you will get the information back and you (internet will give you back 1 photo). now you tell me how will you ask 2 different connections to give the same photo half from 1st connection and half from 2 nd connection...?

The maximum you can do is by using some 3rd party software's you can access both connection turn wise but not at the same time..!

Could get a little complicated for so little time but it's possible if you're using Linux.

    Routing for multiple uplinks/providers

To avoid investment in hardware you could run a bare linux install on vmware and allow it direct access to two nics on the same desktop/pc. Then you could route the desktop/workstation you use through this virtual server which will have the load balancing configuration running.

BUT you get higher bandwidth in the sense your connections are split between the two uplinks. You still don't get one big fat pipe - but just a network load sharing system. For example if you are downloading something it'd go as fast as the link through which it is routed. But then other connections can use the other uplink which is not being used. You bandwith doesn't get any better though but then in another sense it does

How many ISP's BB connection you have ?
    What is your Budget ?
What are the tariff plans ?

try in search box above for previous threads
for "increasing d/l speed with two isps." etc
