Thread: Low browsing, d/l speed on Airtel Internet USB

I am in India on vacation and on 4.6.2009 have purchased USB from Airtel Relationship Center, Alambagh, Lucknow for Rs 2999/- to get unlimited internet.

At the time of deal, I was informed that the connection speed would be 236 kbps; the usb was activated on 5.6.09 and ever since the speed displayed on Net Warrior is between 0 - 6 kbps (aver. 2 kbps) in place of 236 kbps. The speed is very slow and is not corrected by by Airtel Relationship Center, Alambagh, Lucknow. They showed and asked me to sign on a printed plan showing 236 kbps speed at Rs 999/- per month with unlimited downloads.

Des anybody have any previous experience on this service? Or have any suggestions- the Airtel customer care do not respond on this, neither the Airtel Relationship Center, Alambagh, Lucknow.

by the way net never touches 256kbps on a usb, so its like an ideal condition,
but as per your saying 2kbps and all that, i think this is serious..pls do check if the comp you are using is not on proxies of high firewall settings..airtel gives good services..

airtel usb is based on 2G technology. it can never give adequate speeds

just 2kbps...

i also use edge network, but its gives more than this..

I am adapted airtel 1299/- plan which promised to give unlimited download option with 1mbps but sometimes it goes down to 512mbps which is nomal throughout the day.......I complained to them but no remedy..
