Default how to connect p.c to wifi???

hi i have a desktop computer.i have wifi facility in our building.but i get wifi signal in the balcony of my room.the wifi signal does not come inside the room.
how do i connect my p.c to the wifi..
what kind of hardware do i need.
as far as i think i need some device that would get wifi signal(like the wifi thing which is inbuilt in all laptops nowadays), which i will place in the balcony then i would need some wire to connect the device to my p.c.
pls tell me what hardware setup i need and it would be great if u cud give idea about the price of the harware.
    thanks.

To connect your PC to a wi-fi network, you need a wi-fi PCI card in the desktop.

But if the signal is weak, then you will keep loosing connection.

What kind of signal are you receiving in your balcony? Does it belong to someone else or is it a public hot spot?

Well, as I said, a desktop will require a PCI wi-fi card as seen below:

    A laptop has a built-in wi-fi.

And if the signal is weak, you will have to request the society to increase the strength.

getting a technical person to change the wifi setting would take time(our society is not very active in things).
i was hoping i cud do this on my own with help from the forum. i am kind of the computer geek in my family.
can't i get a wifi thing(like the pci wifi card u showed in pic) that i can put in the balcony and connect it to the p.c with wire??
it will help save my image.

I have heard that there are wireless antennae available. But this defeats the whole "wireless" network advantage. The wires from the antenna need to be plugged into your computer and you are now "wired" and not "wireless".

go with any one of these depends on your budget
Wireless Adapters - TechShop.in - Buy Tech Online Now!!!

but since you stated that the network is poor you will have to use your own access point or a repeater or a range booster
