How To Speed Up Torrents with Low Seeders

This method works only with Public trackers.
Here’s a ridiculously easy tip to squeeze out as many users as you can on a dead or dying torrent. It’s particularly handy when a torrent stops near the end, and/or the seed count is listed as zero. Having said that, I’ve also noticed that it helps to increase download speeds from healthy torrents, as well.

NOTE: Do not attempt this trick with private torrents - it’ll only get you banned from the tracker. Use this tip with torrents you find at mininova, thepiratebay, etc.
How it works:

Simple. Just copy/paste this list of public trackers into your torrent’s tracker list.

Applying the trackers to uTorrent:

In particular, this is a ‘µTorrent-compatible’ list, so that’s where I’ll show the example.

Open µTorrent, and right-click on the suspiciously-slow torrent. Select "Properties…".

In the first window box, the "General" tab should be open, and there should already be a list of existing trackers (or perhaps just one). ‘Copy’ the list from above, and ‘paste’ them into the window.

You should now be left with what looks like this (see below). Be sure to click "OK" to save the changes.

While you’re at it, make sure that “Enable DHT” and “Peer Exchange” have checks in them, too. Now, if there are ANY public users on that torrent, you’ll be sure to find them.

suppose if i am a member of any of those sites, but if i apply to any torrent got from public trackers, will it affect me , since those sites would have previously recorded my ip ?

Actually if you do that, then the torrent will try to search the seeders in the private tracker but as you are not allowd there then it will give error that Torrent not Registered or something and wont work, This will not affect the current seeders you are having from other sites.

Banning will occur only if you try it continuesly every time, as dynamic IP is there its rare case to get banned

please explain in detail i could only understand some parts of it.

My next tutorial deals with DHT and peer exchange and why they need to be disabled when using private trackers like BWT, IPt, desitorrents etc.

lets say i'm a member of desitorrents, so when i download a file tracked by them, my IP will be recorded when i download sth.

now i download a torrent from piratebay/mininova and add the desitorrent tracker to it, then they will still ban me ?

oh yes they will. Because desitorrent servers will be in constant touch with your torrent client. And if you are using other trackers your stats won't be reported correctly to desitorrents. Every time your client communicates (every 30 minutes or so) with the tracker it also takes a note of your u/l d/l stats.

If you download something or upload something from desitorrents it is on a condition that it will be used by and for that tracker only. Now if you were to use public trackers on a pvt torrent, your stats will be skewed because you may have d/led or u/led to a public tracker and not to desitorrents. This amounts to ratio cheating and will get you banned in most cases.

Certain high level trackers like waffles and TL ban you almost instantly if you do that.

That is also the reason why almost all the private trackers forbid uploading their torrents on public sites.

You can upload the content but not the torrent file itself.

Gr8 Tutorial Amal. This is a problem I face many times. Infact I am downloading a torrent with 1 seed for the last 3-4 days with about 1kbps speed. I dont know whether I will be able to complete it or not. Let me try your method.

I was getting 2 seeds on that torrent before adding these trackers. after adding these trackers, i lost one seed. I removed these trackers after somewhile(back to the default trackers of the torrent) and i got back the lost seed.

Be patient some times people turn of seeding when its night time in US. Start d/ling after 9PM ist. you might be able to find your seeds again.

By this trick my downloading speed is doubled..............
And seed count is also increased from 7 to 25.........

I had a list of 100 or above public trackers but only few of them worked with every torrents. The piratebay & denis.stalker. I read in a blog that using few good trackers is better and reduced the list to 2-3. Will give feedback after trying this out at night unlimited period.

BTW, uTorrent has added udp protocol support in version 2.0 beta. Now we can use udp trackers too, which updates faster than http ones.
