Default connecting more than two computers using DNA-A211-I modem/router

    Hi,
I need to connect 4 computers to internet using DNA-A211-I bsnl modem. I need to share files in all the PC's, I've connected three PC's using a switch(TP-Link) and using straight cables I have pluged it in the modem, internet and file sharing is working in all the computers?
But when I insert cable of fourth computer to the DNA-A211-I modem, the file sharing is done but internet is not being connected using bridge connections.
If I off the other three computers and then access internet, it gets connected in the fourth computer... Its just like whichever computer comes first access the internet, the rest of the computer can't.
I also have option to connect the fourth computer to the TP-LINK and hence can access internet on all the computers. but as they are all in different rooms, I'll have to switch on at least two computers in order to access internet.
The other option I've is that I can use PPPoE (whatever) rather than Bridge connection. But in that case I've to use Automatic settings of IP addresses, that I dont want to use...

If anyone can help on this!!

    Thanks in advance
    Gaurav

    Default Tp-link

    hey,
as you asked is there any special reason, there is not any special reason but i want to do file sharing on all the computers. If I use Assign IP Address Automatically, then how can i connect to another computer?

I mean when i assigned IP's to all the computer then I can easily access the computer by referring to a particular IP address. If there is any solution to do this by assigning automatic IP address?

Another thing is that, I cannot bypass the TP-LINK, although I can do that but if there is any solution by keeping that also?

Thanks in advance and for your previous help!!

You just have to connect two computers through the RJ45 ports provided in router, internet will be shared automatically on both computers, for sharing files you will have to locate either computer and you are done.

    Default Connecting desktop and wifi

    hi,

Problem: Wifi is not accessible in laptop and IP configuration in desktop

I have searched and read the forum for more than 1 hour, but not able to find a solution to this problem.

    modem: DNA A 211
    BSNL broadband

It was working fine with desktop and laptop wifi, I changed the setting from ppp_0_35_1 to bridge mode and again after two days, I changed it back to ppp_0_35_1 mode.

Now, I have configured the modem as per the instructions in the

    hxxp://******************/bsnl-broadband/41220-dna-a211-setup-pppoe-mode-and-use-multiuser

In the desktop, where it is connected, If the IP address is as below, it works.
    IP: 192.168.1.xx
    255.255.255.0
    Default gateway:192.1681.1

    DNS server
    218.248.255.1XX
    218.248.255.2XX

If I change the IP as "Obtain automatically", the desktop doesn't work ("Limited connectivity").

Wifi not connecting in any case.

In one of the threads, it was mentioned that the IP address should be automatic, but it doesn't work in my case.

    Any help?? Advance thnx.

In the modem/router you might have entered your userId and PW and your modem will start automatically.
    In computer
START NETWORK LAN and/ or WLAN
    Properties
    Network settings page
    select TCP/IP
    properties
    new page
    obtain Ip address aautomatically
    also same for dns
    ( recommended
    enter
    208.67.220.220
    208.67.222.222
    Apply Save>
    If still problem
    Start RUN type cmd OK
    New window
    type ipconfig /all
Copy/Paste data here ( NO EDIT)

    This is the problem !
Now you have not enabled DHCP in the router.
See the LAN page and enable it.

See this link and check all settings in your router.
    Identical modem/router/WIFI.

    2.
Where is your WIFI ipconfig /all data ?

Did you create a WLAN ?
Start /Network both LAN and WLAN icons should appear.

    hi,

    thanks...

as you pointed out the DHCP was NOT enabled. After it is enabled, the internet is working in the wifi.

    Thanks very much...

    one more question:

Next week, I want to change the modem setting from pppoe to bridge setting, so that from the desktop I can create a dialup (for broadband) icon and access the internet from desktop.

If in the wireless (in the laptop), should I create a dialup icon similar to the above??

    Thanks.

Earlier Problem: Wifi is not accessible in laptop and IP configuration in desktop
    Now:
the internet is working in the wifi
    .
When you need to use two computers, preferable to have "always on mode".
Usually "Dialup'" is used to use scheduler/telnet for Night usage downloads.... for
    computer/modem/downloadmanager
    2.
To which system the modem/router is connected ?
    Desktop or laptop?
If Laptop you can create Dialer here.
IN wan page uncheck PPPoE and select BRIDGED
Save Reboot and wait for two minutes.
Desktop is connected to Lan Port..

    ....
