Default Blocking a few web pages

Friends hope u can help me on this one too as always!!!
I have to block a few websites from some people for example lets say "rapidshare and a few other warez sites " I have to do it on both IE and firefox as both r being used and blocking in browser is an irrelevant way because it can easily be changed and if i do it in any add-on for firefox i have to do it in front of them which again is a give away. So i wanted something like a BAT file or exe that i can take on a flash drive, copy on machine, double click and delete the exe ....is it possible please freinds it is urgent

Try any good parental control software, you can disable the sites you want and allow only your choice.

Well That needs me to sit on their PC for a long time to install and configure the tool he is a friend of mine and i can't block in front of him but he is eating away my precious time in downloading rather than working so i wanted some solution that won't let him know that i blocked parental conrtol software would be too obvious

I like the blocksite addon in firefox as it has password access too but i want to be able to do it in a bat file so it can be done without his knowledge

I don't think there is any portable solution for blocking websites. Most of the software need to be integrated with operating system using a driver or similar way.

Any Weblock is a free tool that blocks websites by displaying a fake error message. You will need to install this first. It also allows password protection.

which ever way you block, after some time surely hez going to find out because all other sites will be functioning.

Why do you want to lock your friend's PC without his consent. It comes under his liberty to view/ use the sites he wish. Block/alter your system, not others' without their permission.

Why don't you just talk to your 'friend' and ask him to go easy
    on the downloads.

From what I understood TS and his friend(s) share a single PC and TS wants his friend(s) to concentrate on the work. Or let him concentrate on the work.

arrey i'm surprised your talking like this. You are running a browsing center, you should know better.

If government rule is like you have to block porn sites but you want to do so without your customers knowing about it what will you do ???

Are you cheating them too ???:ninja:

Look i am not bounding his access to net outside my office he can do whatever he likes but in office he has to have some ethics now am not able to tlak to him about it because of some problems (there could be many i hope you understand) He is not much aware of Net and other things so its difficult for him to go and check add-ons i wanted to download a free ware so i did it from warez-bb he looked at it and started using it to download now my work is getting affected ... do u still think am trying to limit his liberty ...
I am not looking for any remote access but i want something like i sit there to install something and just click the exe or bat to block the warez, torrent and rapidshare
In this case we both will be comfortable because if i ask him it is going to create lots of problems between us

And he is not a very good net user

well we agree that your case is genuine. does his computer connect directly to net or does it pass through some central server in your office (provided you have access to that too) ?

Well its a nice tool can u tell me one thing if i block a site he will obviously find out from control panel and if he uninstalls the software the ban will continue or will it break...

And mickey am sorry u seemed to have been hurt by my message it was probably because of the way i wrote it i din't mention about it being my office
He is connected directly to net via a switch we all are connected to switch in pppoe

    obviously it will break

btw u can do one thing, create a hosts file and block all the sites you want and copy it into his computer.
but it will work only in explorer i guess.

After checking the program myself, what it really does is edit the hosts file in Windows-> System32-> Drivers-> etc. The block will remain even if you uninstall the application without removing the block. Then you will then need to manually remove the entries (eg:127.0.0.1 rapidshare.com) from the hosts file.

Open notepad and type the following :

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    127.0.0.1 insider.msg.yahoo.com
    127.0.0.1 <blocked site name>
    save as "hosts"

Important: Be doubly sure that while saving the file, there should be no extension like ".txt"

Goto his system and paste in

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

If you want yyou can make a SFX from winzip or winrar.
