thanks for trying essebe..but that didn't help me..
all i want is a good scheduler...which can hang up my modem when not in use so that there is no usage during chargeable hours at night....it should wake up my system from sleep or hibernation...start the connection...that's it...
please someone post a good scheduler with steps of configuring it....
OS:Windows 7
Modem: Nokia Siemens Residential Router 1600 (Always on Mode)
thanks in advance

For steps, refer
http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...e-manager.html (Ultimate Night Usage Manager.)
surprised none worked for you (the 4 or 5 schedulers listed ).
The router NS1600 is same as WA3002_g4. Did you try any scheduler ?
The whole idea is to disconnect MODEM from
internet at about say 0145 Am and reconnect
at 0205AM then again disconnect at about say 0755AM
rest of the jobs are handled by scheuled tasks in Windows.
Now , it appears BNSL usage meter/s change over to NU reading at 0200AM and do not count usage till 0800AM
Check the transition period/s readings in your usage portal.

You can use wifi only in PPPoE. You can also use it in Bridge mode, if you configure one machine as a server. But since we have tools for PPPoE rebooting, it is better to try it.
Could you get the menu page of the "Auto Connect scheduler in Windows 7.?
A different version was mentioned.
@ essebe
i downloaded the xp version of auto connect and it is running on my system...
but tell me will it stop the unwanted usage during night??
coz it is always on mode...so it exchanges data to maintain the connection..even it is not connected to my pc..
@ meetdilip
how can i configure one system as server...
Configure a network between two computers and in the connection properties of first system, check " Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection "
But I will say, stay in PPPoE. That is a better set up.
what if enable these two options shown in pic..

Try in daytime.
monitor usage with this meter hourly/daily etc.
