First off all you will have to configure your router in PPPoE mode that is always on if in bridge mode.

What error are u getting while trying to connect your desktop..?

    refer this:

See first of all you will have to configure your modem in PPPoE mode that is always on if not configured.

In PPPoE mode you dont have to use a dialer to get connected in desktop, it will automatically get connected and you can browse.

Just refer the link for your modem and configure it in PPPoE mode if not.

You are using a dialer from you desktop to connect internet thats why you are not able to connect.

I am again saying there is no need to use a dialer from desktop to get connected if your modem is configured in PPPoE mode.

For you help download the flash file with hands-on experience of how to set up the modem.

Download Flash File (6.36 MB) and go through it.

    CONFIGURATION - WA1003A (FLASH - Hands-on)

    1. try this in Desktop.
    http://192.168.1.1/ppppassword.html

    Any error message ?
    2..
The little I know about Dataone Broadband Services offered by BSNL
Appears you are already in "Always On"
PPP/PPPoE mode ( YOur UserID PW entered in router)
    and
Not "Bridged " Dialer "Wanminiport" connection.
If WIFI works modem already connected to Internet.
    Disable the Dialer in desktop.
    (Start/Network/ show all connections
    disable Dialer)
    Again
    Start / Network/ LAN
    properties
    Network settings
    TCP/IP
    properties
    Select Obtain Ip address automatically.
Now both Desk top in LAN mode and laptop in WIfi mode should. work.

    Feedback
    Start RUN type cmd Ok
    New window
    type ipconfig /all
copy paste data for desktop and laptop

It's possible that your wireless card is incompatible with WPA. How old is it? I'm sure it handles WEP (oldest one) so I think, if you configure your router to WEP instead of WPA then it will work, if all else fails. Good Luck.
